To a reasonable extent, I know what it means to be an addict. I applaud Patricia for giving an honest narration of herself and David's experiences. Individual addicts who are looking for solace can try it out. Congratulations on BOTD.

This is from reading the review, seems to be amazing memoir of a drug addicts life. Being told by his mother. I can easily see that why it was rated 4 out of 4 stars in ratings. I was wanting to keep reading.

Drug addiction is a vortex that not only engulfs the addict, it takes along the family as well. I totally sympathise with Patricia for having to deal with bot only her son's addiction but also suffer emotionally and mentally. I would love to check this book out but its length is the only thing that makes me wary. congrats on BOTD

This book sounds very captivating and raw with emotion. I can't begin to empathize with the author. Substance abuse hurts many others than those who abuse it. Great review. It was well thought out and it flows well.

I recently read a book about drug addiction but it was from the abusers point of view. This book shines a light in how drug abuse affects not just the abuser but those around them. Would be an eye opener for parents and friends of people who abuse drugs

This is a very insightful write up. Reading through the pages, I could feel almost everything Patricia and Dave were feeling. Addiction is not an easy thing to quit but I believe it takes extreme determination, family support and religious guidance to pull through. This is a very sad and touching story that should be read by young adults and parents at large to enable the understanding of addiction and it's emotional trauma on family members.

Substance abuse is a pathetic global phenomenon. I like that the author exposes the danger of this menace, not the abuse alone but also to the family members, the community and the nation at large. I congratulate the author on being the #BOTD!

Drug addiction is a painful thing both physically and emotionally even more painful Is what families go through, watching a loved one get wasted by drugs and there is nothing, you can do about it because all efforts have failed.
It must have taken a lot of courage for the author to share her family experiences I salute her.
Nice review by the way.

Congratulations on book of the day. I appreciated the details and considerate tone of your review as you acknowledged the huge implications of substance abuse, reaching far beyond the person who is addicted.
David's mum was courageous to disclose so much about her experiences with him. I hope writing the book supported her to manage grief in a creative way that also invaluable to other people.
David loved writing and desired to become a published author. Throughout the years, he wrote short stories and journaled regularly. His journal entries are featured in the first part of this book alongside Streets’ experiences
What a tribute - David's work is now published....

This is so heartbreaking. I have seen how addiction affects not only the person who is addicted but also the people around them. It's sad that David passed away. It's great that Patricia wrote this book as an outlet, as it will help other grieving families. Great review!

I think this book would be of huge value to substance addicts and families and community members around them. Although the page count is much, I think the information is worth it. Congrats on being the #BOTD!
