I'm not a big fan of poetry books. But I have no qualms recommending a good book to others. This book appears to have been written with a message that needs to be passed across. And splendidly written it was. Congrats on winning BOTD

I like that the book covers a wide range of contemporary issues but having such a huge number of poems would make me think twice about picking this book. I congratulate the author on being the book of the day!

It seems like the author covered a plethora of various topics through her poems. I might check it out as it is already on my Kindle. Great job with the review.

'Official Review: The Residue of Our Desires' by Darcy Green is a good commentary on the poems related to our modern-day world for avid readers. I love the way in which the reviewer explores the issues, the book raises. The point that the author expressed his feelings about various topics such as relationships, capitalism, death, animal cruelty, earth's exploitation, politicians, war, ego, God, atheism, our monkey mind, the plights of Sherpas, parenting, hope, and so on is worth mentioning in the review. Also, the point that the author touched on both personal issues and societal issues, as mentioned in the review, is remarkable for readers. The review has a good ending. It was great to learn that the writing is introspective!

This book is an appealing collection of poems. The author expresses his feelings on an immense variety of topics such as relationships, capitalism, death, animal cruelty, exploitation of the earth, politics, war, ego, God, atheism, parenting, and hope, among others. It also includes sayings. It sounds like an ideal reading for those who are not experts in understanding poetry.

I'm not a fan of poetry but I will admit, I enjoyed reading your review. Maybe one day I'll get what the hoopla of poetry is all about.

I’m looking forward to digging into this book to be on a journey as the author takes me to different relatable and timely themes such as politics, war, parenting and and ego. Poems most of the times are so deep to decipher one can only admire how they are composed, but I’m all for it.

The book title and writing is endearing, and so also is it's theme. However, I'm not a fan of poetry and would have to pass. Thanks for your beautiful review.

Well said. I’m not a fan of poetry. I’m also an extrovert, so I think I’m on the opposite spectrum from the author. But there seems to be a wide range of topics.

When you said books give you a sense of acknowledgment, I really connected with that. Growing up I spent a chunk of my time with my head in a book, meeting new characters and experiencing life with them. I recently started reading poems, most specifically modern poems that highlight topics that impact us today. This book seems to have a wide range of topics that I can enjoy. Thank you for the review.

Great review! I love poetry, especially poetry that speaks to you. It sounds like this book is literally the writer conversing with the reader. I am glad he touches on societal issues and is not shy about it. This is very helpful. It can help alot of people. If it's about a family for instance it can help the members know how others feel.

I reflect on the reviewer, as an introvert, I enjoyed reading that about books showing that we (introverts) are not alone.
The Residue of Our Desires, is a collection poems that the author uses to express his feelings about relationships, capitalism, death, and other topics.
