I don't think I would enjoy this book. Seems to be a memoir with nothing really compelling.

The life of James seems interesting. Having a mother like his to nurture and establish faith in him is commendable. I also like his honesty in sharing almost everything about his life.

The only part I like about this book is that it deals with racism.

This book sounds incredibly honest and those are the perfect memoirs. The ones that show everything, not just what you want to read, are the best.

I like that the author dwells on the menace of racism as this is present in almost every facet of our lives. Indeed, the proper raising of children to be colour blind would help curtail this unfortunate incidence. I congratulate the author on being the #BOTD!

I enjoyed this honest account of the author's life in California during the turbulent times of the 1960s; the adjustments of moving to another school, making new friends, his neighbor Dennis who became a good friend, his love of music and playing the Clarinet. He seemed to have had a good family life overall, which seemed to have formed the basis for his later success in adulthood. The humor in many of the stories was enjoyable.

I've not read this book but, the reviewer makes me want to read it. The way the author addresses racism is really good.

Today's BOTD is a memoir by James H Morgan that reads like a novel and focuses on his life in the 60s. Readers who grew up during the same time will find his stories relatable, and those who didn't will get a feel of what our world was like back then. This sounds like one that will appeal to a wide audience; I've added it to my WTR list. Thank you so much! :-)

It takes courage for any one to bluntly share the dark part of their past life, but telling such stories also shows the fact that one has grown or overcome some certain struggles in life.
I love to read biographies or memoir that are creative and interesting as this one.
Thanks for the review.

A heart warming biography "The Reject Bench" by James H Morgan, which tells about the author's training in music and joining the Army. This book looks inspirational to me.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.
