As thrilling as the adventures seemed, I have to say what really stood out for me in this book were the hardships each of them endured throughout the book. Though it was a memoir, it felt like a classic fiction drama.

I also did not like how Charles was a pushover. He would always just do whatever he was told instead of speaking up. I loved the traveling though. Thanks for the wonderful review.

A carefully crafted review. I am currently reading this novel, and I can confirm the points you raised in this review. I love the growth and development experienced by Charles and his friends. This book is such a nice adventure cum relationship book to spice up one's day.

Looking at the live of these four men, Charles, Sam, Alec and Daniel, I am quite certain there would be lots of adventures and experience to learn from their journey. I'll consider adding this book to my bookshelf.
You did great in your review.

The struggles that each of the characters had to go through really stood out to me as the most memorable aspect of this book, even though the adventures were very exciting. However, even though it was a novel based on the author's own life, it read like a fantastic work of fiction.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

This book made a special impression on me. I've always wanted to feel what it means to be a man. And this book did well a great job of calming my curiosity.
