Review of Exploring Wine Regions – Bordeaux France
Do you love wine? Have you ever gone on a wine tasting tour? If you are a wine connoisseur, you must be interested in the process it goes through before it reaches your glass. This book, Exploring Wine Regions – Bordeaux France by Michael C. Higgins, PhD, will take you on a journey through wineries, vineyards, wine schools, wine estates, and some of the best wine regions in the world.
Michael is an author, photographer, and wine expert. He has participated in some of the most extraordinary experiences involving wine, like pruning vines, picking grapes, working alongside winemakers, participating in blind tastings, and food and wine pairings. He is, therefore, the best person to take us through the wine experience in Bordeaux. He states clearly at the outset that he shares his personal experiences and interactions. Also, the photos are authentic from his camera and his eye.
Michael takes us through Bordeaux's city center. He describes Bordeaux as the center of the universe for wine. He includes its historical information and spectacular landmarks. He provides details such as languages spoken in the luxurious hotels he mentions, contact information, transportation, and information about the surrounding areas.
The book is well researched, informative, and enjoyable. It has all the information a wine lover would need when visiting wineries in Bordeaux. Though it is comprehensive, the language used is simple to understand. It is written in a conversational manner. What I loved most were the descriptive images and the maps. They are clear and beautiful. The vivid description makes you feel as if you are part of the journey.
Among the resorts mentioned in the book, I would like to visit Euronat. It is described as having more than two miles of spacious beach to enjoy nude sunbathing, playing in the water, swimming, or just strolling along the wide sandy beaches, feeling the salty breeze and warm sun on your body.
The only negative thing I would mention is that the book looks cluttered. The font size on the digital copy is too small, which makes it a bit tiresome to read. However, I did not find any spelling or grammatical errors, which means that the book was professionally edited. I feel that it deserves a rating of four out of four.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves exploring different cultures. Also, readers who love wine will find it interesting. It can even serve as a guide for travelers visiting Bordeaux.

Thanks for such a descriptive and enthusiastic review Nyambura Kar. I enjoyed reading it. I wouldn't usually wish to read a book about wine, but you've helped me see that this book includes many things of more interest to me.
