Even though racism is a major theme in this book, there were other themes such as revenge, war, determination and war.

Besides racism, the themes I noticed reading this book are isolation, discrimination, war and unfair judgements. It just didn't seem fair how the abnormals were treated.

I feel like one of the themes in the book is racism. They were excluded for something they had no control over. The segregation born from the racism was also evident in the book.

In addition to racism towards abnormalities or what people think is not normal for them, there are Al's themes of war, revenge, determination and technological advancements.

Racism was a major theme in this book along with other types of discrimination and separatism. I would also say that isolation is a big theme in this book.

The themes of racism stood out in the book. Additionally, I also saw the themes of betrayal and revenge in the book.

I think another theme worth referring to is hope. In all of the traumatic events of the post apocalyptic time they faced, the survivors still braced up together to move on with their lives which was admirable.

Owuamanam wrote: 01 Jun 2022, 10:46 I feel the story of Kaarina and Monty is similar to the story of most individuals who face racism. They are persecuted for something that was not their fault. They were born abnormal and with special abilities. They didn't choose to be born with a special gift. However, they have to face the consequences of being born that way. Relatively, I feel one of the themes in the book is racism. Those who were normal felt threatened and hunted the abnormal. What other themes could you identify from the book?
I will have to blindly agree with you now because I haven't read the entire book, but it does seem like the book is swaying towards the theme of racism. I will update my comment once I'm done.

The prominent theme here is racism. Also, I could see some semblance if the pandemic situation. Therefore I would say there was also the theme of society crisis.

The theme of racism is a major theme in this book and reminds us of the systematic discrimination black people face all around the world simply because of their color.
