Winning the War on Cancer by Sylvie Beljanski is a work of non-fiction. It is also based on the history of the author's father and the struggles that the author had to face after her father's death. This book explains the alternative to curing cancer. The author's parents, who were cancer researchers, discovered two plant extracts that have an ability to cure cancer along with pharmaceutical medicines.

The author tells us about herself and how she hated the fact that her parents gave more time to their research, but later on, she finds out the importance of that result as well. I like this character development of the author. The author talks about her father's struggles and how his natural extracts, which can cure cancer, faced opposition from the French government and pharmaceutical industry. She says that anything that is natural is cost-effective and beneficial as well, but nowadays, money is more important than people's lives. So, the government tends to destroy all the research on natural medicines because those medicines can be a threat to costly pharmaceutical drugs. After her father's death, the author started the Beljanski Foundation to promote his father's research in the hope of getting his father's theories accepted and to inform the public about natural medicines.

The best parts of this book were the medical terminology, how cancer affects our bodies, and how we can cure this. This information was very helpful, and you will easily understand these terms even if you are not from a medical background. The author is a lawyer, but she was drawn to these studies and explains everything so well about medical drugs and how they work. She did not tell us to fully remove the scientific medicines, but she suggested providing these natural medicines alternatively with scientific drugs and therapies so that people could benefit from them.

There was not anything about the book which I disliked. Everything in the book was in good sequence. The author's past and then the author's present day struggles plus the medical information about drugs and cancer Everything was so remarkable to read, and this book really teaches me something new to learn. Furthermore, I didn't find any grammatical errors in this book, so I will give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

I would recommend this book to everyone who is keen on learning about cancer and its cure. This is suitable for readers of any age. If you are not from a medical background, then you can also read it. As I mentioned earlier, the author has kept everything very simple in her book. In my opinion, the drama in between and the hope of the author, the family relationship, everything is a must-read for all.
