Cheating on God: Overcoming Marital Infidelity by Daphne Curges is an insightful book that opens the can of worms about adultery. It discusses the subtle forms in which infidelity camouflages and elucidates how to overcome, seek repentance, and be restored.

The view of marriage varies from the worldly perspective to the author’s perspective. Marriage may appear as a tradition or for various reasons from the worldly viewpoint. In the author’s opinion, marriage is a covenant bond of commitment. Furthermore, the author explains how infidelity can grow from an innocent seed to a devastating hurricane that sweeps everything away. Daphne Curges, in this short piece, explains the need for an act of will to keep a marriage together than feeble emotions. She discusses deeply the roots of adultery, the signs of a cheating spouse, how to end an illicit affair, seek repentance, and the consequences involved. In conclusion, she encourages readers not to trust the flesh but to flee from every form of temptation. In the case of falling into temptation, she advises them to seek repentance and be ready for the consequences of their action.

With a realistic and practical presentation, the author pieces this book together. Each chapter was themed with related contents with effortless flow. In addition, the book was brutally honest, educative, and reflective. I love the examples the author gave, which covered the basics of her illustrated points.

Also, the book was educative and exciting to read. Despite our connection with God, if we don’t put in the work to make our marriage what we want it to be, we will be surprised at the actions and altered paths we take. There’s a statement the author made that I would love to share. It says, “Love is an unconditional act of the will.” It is a profound statement because, in as much as love is a beautiful necessity, there would be hollow days. In marriage, there are days the emotions of love would be unavailable, and our will would have to override our feeble feelings.

The author was explicit, practical, and candid in expressing these matters. For that, I commend her greatly. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this book. It is professionally edited except for one mundane error that didn’t interfere with my reading experience. For these reasons, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this book to married people. To single people, there is a lot of information to be harnessed. The book is a standing assurance.

Very good book for both christians and no Christians too. Very educative and Chanels our lives to God because he is the author of Love and we should live his example.

Adultery is a cankerworm that is on the increase. By strength shall no man succeed. Therefore, anyone struggling with infidelity should read this book to find out the way forward. I commend the author for such great piece.

Wow! This book on adultery seems to be just what I've been looking for. Oh, and I completely concur with the author that love is an act of the will that is unconditional. I'm hoping to read it soon. I appreciate your review.

Your review is so informative that it feels like I have read the book too. It is interesting that the author's view confirms my suspicion that marriage is a war of commitments than love.
This is helpful and will help guide my decision about the subject.

The review was great and from my understanding that if someone cheats they need to repent. But why cheat in a marriage there’s good and bad but love trump all. But reading someone else opinion and getting more insight is great as well your review was detailed. And broke down for all understanding thanks
