The cover is lackluster, which may give the book a bad first impression. But the plot intrigues me because I love whodunits. I like that Cambodians are featured. I don't know much about them.

Unfortunately, I will have to skip this book due two major reasons: first, I have zero interest in studying Cambodian culture and second, the crime described failed to intrigue me enough to seek resolution by reading. No offence, it is just the matter of my taste and congrats with BOTD, anyway!

I quite enjoy a good murder mystery and one that keeps you guessing to the very end is the best kind. Thank you for the informative review.

A cultural approach to a murder-mystery and investigation by a journalist and detective. Keeping a reader on their toes is an appealing feature. Good review!

A murder mystery is one that always has a hook to it and I'm glad this book did justice to that by keeping readers attached to uncover the mystery of the murder. I'm sure readers would have a good read. Thanks for the review!

What really sold me on this book was the reviewers statement that the reader will be on the edge of their seat until the last page. I strongly dislike when crime novels and predictable or have a “plot twist” that every reader sees coming. It sounds like this novel’s plot was well conceived and well researched! Looking forward to giving this book a try!

A great sounding whodunnit. Investigation taking place from the off, although hitting a lot of dead ends. Characters are all interesting from the start as their speech is written with varying accents. From the excerpt alone, this looks good.

A skillful plot arrangement is vital no matter how attractive the storyline is. The author could've derailed, but he stayed on track to give us this epic crime fiction. Congratulations on BOTD!

This book seems to cover the mystery of two murders. June and Terry come together to solve this case and henceforth starts their romance. I would like to know what all happens in this story. Congratulations on BOTD!

This book checks a lot of boxes: a steady pace, well-developed characters, a structured plot, and a blend of mystery and romance. It seems like the author really did his homework in order to develop an addictive read. Thanks for the review and recommendation!

I’m looking forward to digging into this novel to find out who killed Victor Pritkin. I like reading mystery novels for the thrill of solving the culprit with the main characters, Replyn and Stans. I always guess who the culprit is before the story ends so I’m sure it will the same with this one.
