I am afraid to say that the description provided in review failed to catch my interest. Granted chances were slim to begin with, because I have quite complicated relationships with non-fiction and by that I mean utter dislike. No offense and still congratulations on BOTD!

Such a sad story. It takes one with such grief to imagine the way the author poured out his emotions into the story. Thanks for a great review. Congratulations to the author on winning BOTD.

Thank you for this candid, heartfelt review. It seems that this memoir will be a wonderful, sentimental read. The connection to wider subjects such as spirituality adds an inclusive touch. I will certainly check it out.

Having lost family members to all types of cancer, I know this memoir will hit me hard. I'll save it for a day I need a good cry. Thank you for this wonderful review.

I must admit that books like "Dear Abigail" can be difficult to read due to the sadness of it, but even more difficult for the writer to write. Death of loved ones like Rachael and Carys are all part of life. What I glad for is that the writer can celebrate moments and events in their lives. Thanks for your review.

Thanks for your great review. There is so much emotion packed into this book. The hurt of losing his loved one and the deep love he shares for the granddaughter he is not able to see at will and finding new love in older years. The story told is all too familiar, many of us have shared simular sorrow or know someone who has. The author knows how to connect with the audience emotionally. Congrats on your book being selected for today's reading.

This book sounds super sad. I too lost a friend to ovarian cancer. My heart breaks for this grandfather who has lost two women to cancer. Great review.

Richard has been through a lot of pain with losing his wife and then daughter but he was able to master the courage to move on with life and he writes a memoir for his granddaughter for when she is older. This is a powerful book that may also help readers who are grieving for their loved ones. Great review.

I sympathize with the author. Not only did he lose his wife, but he also lose his daughter. I hope he treasures his memories with them instead of holding onto the grief.

This is a well-written review, coming from a place of deep reflection from the reviewer. I am convinced that this book will stir up a couple of emotions from readers as they follow the author on his journey. There's nothing as strong as grief especially when attached to a loved one. Well done, I enjoyed the review.

I truly feel for the author, losing one's loved ones is painful, but a wife and daughter? It's just tragic. I hope that in writing this ode, the author finds closure and solace. Congratulations on BOTD.

The book sounds interesting and really heartwarming and poignant. To lose both his wife and his daughter to the same decease is a lot but the idea to write a letter to his granddaughter to tell her about her mother, her grandmother and their family is nice. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Life is full of mysteries, pains, denials, and disappointments. The author's pains and losses are disturbing; the trauma is just too much - loosing his wife to ovarian cancer, and then his daughter to the same illness. This is sad. However, I hope those in pains and denials find solace in this book.

The events in this letter are so tragic and evoke such poignancy. Thanks to the author for sharing his experience with the world. He's courageous, and I hope the healing will continue as he ministers to countless others who have suffered similar circumstances and will find Abigail's letter cathartic. Excellent, insightful review on a retrospective but humourous Book of the Day.
