Curious to Burn

Sometimes I buy a ticket to hell
Because I'm curious to feel the burn again
I summer in the city of clouds
But spend winters with the fire
I live for the pain, the beautiful pain of growth,
And decorate my vacations
With the banality of comfort

POEM: FIRST LOVE IS A MONSTER
POET: NGURANGWA, S.S
I wish young love would forever stay new,
With it's consistency that prevails in a few,
Those blessed enough to enjoy it's fruit,
In it's matured stage when it starts to tempt,
Those very two once the beautiful lovebirds,
When their favorite hobby was sharing a bed,
When they were young and curious about love,
When they felt the paradise of Adam and Eve,
But can I ask where does it all disappear to?
Is it just a temporary kind of teenage truce?
That is not meant to forever bind the two?
Why does it go away and leave them hurt,
Desperate victims who can't heal their hearts,
Why does it have to split in shattered halves,
Why cut them deep like angry slaughter knives,
Their hopes and young dreams all set to weather,
No future, no laughter no the fiery smiles either,
If love could keep it's false promises and care,
I swear no man or woman would live in fear,
Of being heartbroken or left alone in despair,
No one would be afraid of it like it is a red fire,
That way love would be the world's healer,
Not this outlaw-like unashamed joy stealer,
This unfair, fake, painful love I've always known,
Lots of romantic gestures before it's fully grown,
That at the end turns into a haunting monster,
That's why I say that love is an hypocritic trickster.
