Review of E M P Honeymoon
Newlyweds Kelly and Tom are in Honduras on their honeymoon. Kelly chooses to take a tour of the area while Tom is participating in a sea diving activity. She wanders onto a pigsty shop and is mesmerized by the loveliness of the place. She searches the pigsty shop for the shop manager but is unable to find him, so she heads to the back. At the back, she discovers numerous computers there that are beeping and appear to be involved in some strange activity. Six guys chase her out of the shop before she has a chance to take a closer look around. Panicking, she calls her brother Senator Mike crying out for help. She manages to get away from the men and reunites with her husband later that day at the hotel, where she tells him about her terrible day. Tom, a police sergeant, decides to investigate the pigsty shop since his gut tells him there is more going on there. On the other side, Senator Mike dispatches a team to ensure his sister is safe.
One thing I liked about the book was how the narrative developed. When Kelly, Tom, and the rest of the crew uncover findings about what is going on in the pigsty store, readers can feel the suspense. I enjoyed the colorful descriptions of what was going on within the various camps under Dear Leader's authority. Readers see both sides of the coin: good individuals seeking to rescue the world and terrible people intent on wreaking havoc and committing terrorism.
One drawback I discovered in the story was a lack of sufficient characterization for the main characters, Tom and Kelly. While reading the book, I had no connection to the characters, and all seemed to be merely figures in the plot.
I rate E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom by Dorothy May Mercer 4 out of 4 stars. There were no grammar errors that I could find. I believe the book is well written and exceptionally edited. The story plot had a good flow to it, and I liked how the action-packed, suspenseful scenes were. The powerful female protagonists who fought for their nation in the line of duty were something I found appealing.
I recommend this book to readers who enjoy action-packed adventure books with a little bit of romance. The book brought a lot of action scenes, and the book’s suspenseful storyline has a pleasant flow.
