So many wonderful writers have been mentioned. It is impossible to choose one. How can you compare Dostoyevsky, Hemingway, Dumas, Fitzgerald, Austen?

While maybe not in the same milieu as the above-mentioned, I really enjoy Michael Connelly, a former crime-beat journalist, who knows the City of Angels very well - as do his characters. It's unique to see restaurants and landmarks that you've been to referenced in the narrative.

For well over ten years, he has managed to keep my interest (the kind of read that you don't ever want to put down.)

Right now it is probably a tie between Suzanne Collins and John Green. I just finished The Hunger Games series and right before that I read The Fault in Our Stars. Both were just so moving and I could genuinely feel all of the emotions that the characters were feeling. Both authors have excellent character development skills and a true knack for writing.

I'm also trying to get into some books by Nicholas Sparks and Lisa Gardner. I've read a couple of their books before and liked them so they may be the next couple authors that I read.

My favorite out of all is Arthur Golden.
Absolutely loved how he described Japan and its culture of the World War II times. His language and dramatism make the story aliveand very colorful for the reader

I love James Patterson (I esp. enjoy his book "Confessions of a Murder Suspect") and Cinda Williams Chima (I adore her Heir Chronicles and Seven Realms series).

i started off reading my moms books and she reads a lot of nora roberts and i loved the adventure of her books and how it can suck you in, but recently i started reading janet evanovich and i love the stephanie plum series. Janet can make me feel like you are Stephanie and some of the emotion is so real. Im actually reading the series over again. I would love to have a Ranger, Morelli, and Lula in real life!
