It’s hard to imagine a scenario like this playing out in today’s society, but a story about having to work on a marriage is relatable for nearly every reader. I appreciate that the author was able to go into significant detail with historical accuracies. That attention to small details would make me pick up this book, although I typically stay away from romance novels.

She loved the novel but it's hard to accept the idea of suddenly waking up to find yourself married or engaged.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical romance story about two individuals that are bound to a marriage contract created by their deceased parents. If the man does not marry the young teacher, he forfeits his ownership of his father’s land. Will they fall in love? It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This is my kind of story! I love the conflict from your description -- almost Jane Austen like. Great review.

The cover of the book put me off, but your review is proof that one really shouldn't judge the book by the cover. I love that it's a page turner with realistic dialogues.

This historical fiction book that happens in the Victorian era seems to bring the story and relationship between Alexina and Peyton, who start to know each other as their parents arranged their marriage. I don't enjoy romances, but congrats on BOTD to the author! Thanks for the review

Romance with plot like this always captured my attention. I want to see the progress of their knowing each other and see how they fall in love. The setting of the story is also a great addition to the structure of the book. Thank you for your review.

"Fates Sweet Passion" is a historical fiction book by Patricia Crumpler about a young woman that learned on her 21st birthday she had been betrothed to a young man name Peyton Woodleigh. I cannot imagine what it would be like to be betrothed to marry a stranger. The fact that the parents were friends does not make for a good marriage. Both Alexina and Peyton want the marriage to work while Peyton was not interested in marriage, he just wanted to keep his farm land and Alexina wants to fall in love with Peyton and raise a family. The official reviewer stated that this was a page-turner so there must be much more to this story. Good review.

What a story! It's quite interesting, really. It is a page-turner according to the reviewer and I'd like to read it myself. I also like the fact that there is a underlying tale about what life was like in the Victorian Era while the two main characters try to get along.

This book sounds intriguing. It seems as though the author has taken a couple common scenarios and made them new by putting them in the Victorian era, a well-loved historical setting for books with strong romantic elements. I’ll have to consider it for when I have free time. Thank you for the helpful review.

I am not into historical texts, but after reading this review ,I really want to give this book a try to delve into the daily life humorous struggles of the couple. A great piece written to support the core idea of the author in simplified manner, giving the gist in few words.

It is still odd to imagine existing in that time as a woman. After reading further into the samples, all it left me is curiosity. Reading your reviews just confirms that it is going to be an exciting read! Thank you for the review.
