Starting a new life with a stranger is a really daunting task. The review explains the way the author has executed this job perfectly well. Will add it to my TBR list!

I’ve read this novel, and I love the accurate depiction of language and dress from the Victorian era. Lots of historical fiction novels don’t deliver on this aspect, making the book less realistic, but there was no such problem in this lovely read! I also enjoyed the distinct differences in dialogue between different classes and you could clearly tell there were regional differences as well. Overall, a very realistic portrayal of two strangers betrothed to each other and just trying their best to get to know one another!

The eye-catching design of the cover page is the first appealing aspect of this book that I noticed. With one glance, I knew something was up. It looks like a great read, and I'll definitely keep it on my shelf. Thanks for the review and Congratulations on BoTD.

Fascinating: marriage as a socio-economic union. Not untypical of the upper classes of the Victorian era or many others preceding it. I wish there was more in this review about how much is history vis-a-vis fiction. Although, to be fair, I see your focus is consistent with the title's implication: a romance of sorts between Alexina and Peyton.

:techie-studyingbrown: very realistic, especially in some of Middle East
countries, I highly recommend this novel to readers who enjoy romance novels and historical fiction.

I just love these kinds of romance books. What a great book to start after reading a series! Fresh and heartwarming. I'm not usually a fan of historical fiction but this resembles works like Pride and Prejudice which I adored so I will definetly be reading this!

It is quite an odd situation Alexina and Peyton have found themselves in. We are sure to see just how much their resolve is from this book. Great review.

An interesting plot set on one of my best era's to read about in fiction. I wonder how arranged marriages work and how these two would be able become one. Thanks for your review!

At the beginning, when reading the review I thought Alexina and Peyton were of different nationalities but they weren't. I love how the author makes me feel as if I'm an Alexina character in the book. And impressed by the author's intelligence in taking the reader's attention by making stunned and curious until the end of the story. I think this is a good and fun fictional romance novel. Thanks for your review.

Marry so and so or be disinherited! My goodness, parents in that era were a force to reckon with! And children were rather filial—something you cannot get in the 'modern' world! I think I will enjoy this read with all the romance, ancient settings and history, and the struggle against fate (in regards to whom to marry). Congrats on the BOTD!

I enjoy when authors are able to help the reader visualize and insert themselves with the characters and the author does just that. This book is a great book about the Victorian era. Great Review!

I like the path the author took in carving the storyline of this historical fiction. It's enthralling and I can't help but add it to my to-read list. Congratulations on the book of the day.
