Review of The God Food Diet
The God Food Diet by Miami Mike honestly changed our lives. My partner is an extremely picky eater and is what is known as a "super taster". Veggies do not touch their plate. It was extremely important to us to find a way to eat for our health after they had a stroke. It is also a priority of ours to eat and use products in a way that is sustainable for us and the planet! It has really been a struggle trying to do this when most “diets” call for extreme restriction, cutting out whole food groups, and feeling hungry all day. Not this one!!
When we try to eat healthy, whole food, it can be a real challenge when we are left with only meat to eat due to my partner hating vegetables. It can also be a big burden on the wallet to eat healthy and organic, or at least it has been in the past! This book talks about the benefits of eating organic and non-GMO foods including BREAD!! There is no need to cut anything out of your diet. You can eat bread, meat, dairy, and even the occasional treat, so long as it follows the guidelines of being non-GMO, organic, and has only whole recognizable ingredients. Throughout the book, the author uses their doctor visits as evidence of the health benefits of following this regimen. The author describes what their health was like before going on this journey ten years ago and what their health is like now. They discuss what ailments went away from eating this way and what their doctors have said to them. They even go so far as to share what supplements they take! The author discusses the importance of eating organic meat and meat that comes from animals that have been treated well. This book is unique because it discusses the benefits of raw dairy and eating organic on a budget while incorporating bread and potatoes. Gentle or brief movement is encouraged, and he talks about what has worked best for him.
I don’t believe there are any negative aspects of this book. The only negative aspect is that we didn't find it sooner! This book was extremely informative and has really helped us leap into a much healthier lifestyle we can feel good about. We even switched our cleaning products to more natural brands!
I rated this book 4 out of 4 stars because of its easy readability, content, and information. It took me less than an hour to read the entire thing, and it was really life-changing. The book provides a well-rounded amount of content and does not leave you needing to go dive into several other resources for more information.
This book would be great for anyone wanting to make healthier choices for themselves and/or better choices for animals and the planet. I think it can help change the lives of people who are struggling with their health and may be picky eaters or do not do well with restrictions or who may not know where to start. I highly recommend this book.
