Review of Did you know
Did you know by Ashok Bhaskaran is an intriguing children's book that takes us back to what life was like before the invention of many of the machines that help make life easy for us. You will be astonished by the amount of information you will get from this book.
Have you ever wondered how our great grandfathers or grandfathers lived before the invention of most machines? This is a rare thought. Little Jason, a smart 9-year-old boy, was just gifted a tablet for his birthday. The tablet of 3000 years ago was different from the one Jason had. Jason went ahead and narrated how life was before most of these gadgets and machines were invented. While reading, I had every reason to appreciate life more. I guess most adult readers must have forgotten most of these inventions and the great men who invented them. Grab a copy to refresh your memory while you read.
This was indeed an exciting read, as it took me back to my young age when we were being taught all these things in school. I could remember how engrossed I was in class while we were being taught. But it's funny how I have forgotten most of them today. I commend little Jason for refreshing our memories about how life was for our ancestors and how it is now through the inventions of many great men. I loved the style of writing and the brevity of this book. The audience for this book is going to be excited while reading. This book is also set to develop the reading abilities of children.
My only dislike was the overly large diagrams and tiny writing. Children may find it challenging to be able to capture the words. Aside from this, the book was unique. I also did not come across any errors, which shows the book is well-edited.
I recommend this book to children and lovers of children's books. I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars, as my dislike isn't enough to take away a star.
