The birth of Princess Amara came with much celebration and fear. On the one hand, her family was elated because the spirit of Brikkir had made her body her home. This meant that she could do unimaginable things. On the other hand, they were scared because the whole world would suffer if she fell into the wrong hands. Although the kingdom loved their little winter daughter, things didn't go as planned. Amara would have to look for a way to control her powers. Katja, her elder sister, will have to choose to either support her little sister all the way or disassociate herself from her.

One of the things I liked about Awakening was how Tayma Tameem told the story. She constantly alternated between the past and the present. While I would have disliked this style on a typical day, I found myself loving it. I enjoyed the constant switch, and I wanted more of it. I do not know if the sequel will have this same feature. I pray it does.

It would be wrong of me to say that I dislike anything about Awakening. I could not imagine hating anything about it because the story was captivating. There were lots of unpredictable twists in the plot at several points. On the issue of the twist, it seemed to happen every five pages in the book. These suspenseful moments were well-timed and never felt out of place. I wonder what thoughts were running through Tayma Tameem’s mind when she was writing Awakening. This twist and suspense are what I liked the most in Awakening.

Awakening is a book filled with so much magical golden suspense. You can never tell what the next sentence will say or what the next chapter will hold. It took me on an adventure into the world Katja and Amara lived in the book. The story was also exceptionally well edited. I have said that I did not dislike anything about this magical golden book. That is why I am rating it 4 out of 4 stars. This deserves the excellent rating I gave it above.

Awakening is a book that readers that love magic-filled novels will enjoy reading. It is a book that is very much like that Disney film about a princess who had the power of ice. While it will give you that vibe, it is different in many ways. So, if you love novels about princesses turning things to ice, you should read Awakening.

Tayma Tameem is an author that knows her onions when it comes to storytelling. Awakening is a classic proof of her talent.

Tayma Taneem is one of my favorite authors. I can’t imagine any of her novels being rated below 4 stars based on anything but opinion.Though this particular one seems to be a little more fantasy than what I’m used to, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.

Princess Katja's story was beautiful. However, I did not like the cliffhanger at the end. It gave me a panic attack and I am not joking. That aside, the twists in the plot was unexpected and greatly welcome by me.
