I read the first several pages. The Reviewer is correct - too many errors. Therefore, I'll take a pass on this. My recommendation to Mr. Barry is to hire a professional editor and clean up the errors before releasing the next version, making the book much more pleasurable to read.

This is a well-rounded and comprehensive review giving a detailed view of the story. Malino's story seems to be heavy and full of hardships. I will have to pass on reading this book for the same reason, and because I don't particularly enjoy historical fiction stories. Regardless, congratulations on the BOTD!

One of the many lessons I brought away from reading this book was that sometimes in order to survive, you have to do things that you would consider dishonorable under normal conditions.
Malino sounds like he had a rough life and had to make some difficult choices. But based on your recommendations, this is probably not the book for me.

This is a unique story of a baby, castaway from birth and brandished evil, simply because of his inability to see. What will become of Malino when he grows up and has to face the world alone. I am interested to know. Congratulations on BOTD!🥳

I was very moved by all the hardships that Malino had to overcome and how he narrowly escaped a life of slavery as a child. I didn't find the foreign words too distracting. The foreign words were sometimes explained in the narrative, so I think the book is still very approachable for readers like myself who have no knowledge of Italian or 20th-century Italy.

Usually, I'm not a fan of books with politics and economic oppression, but Malino's story is very unique. I loved the description of the book in this review. I'll give it a try when I get the time.

Superstition and beliefs have caused us a lot as humans. I feel for the protagonist of the book. However, I think the author deserves an accolade for giving details and the plot development in the book. Congrats to the author on being the #BOTD!

Malino's journey in a life of slavery with political and economic oppression is nicely presented in the book
"Malino: The Orphan Road" by Joseph R. Barry. This book is worth reading.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

After reading the free sample of this novel, I admit that I am intrigued and want to read more, in spite of the errors mentioned in the review. I noticed already in the sample that there are some glaring errors that detract from the flow of the story, but the main character himself and his interesting life have drawn me in. This review makes me feel like I would enjoy reading the rest, even if there are errors. Thank you!

I love historical fiction, but unfortunately in the current case the subject matter chosen by the author for this book ensures that I will have to pass it. How many times orphans were made main characters in literature? "Jane Eyre", "Oliver Twist" to name a few, but certainly it was much enough to know it won't be light reading. I prefer to avoid tragedy, but still congrats on BOTD!

The seems like an interesting and unique fiction novel. How anyone can think to get rid of a child that is "supposedly evil" is beyond me and I am happy to see someone in the novel had the decency to hide the child till he was older. Great idea for a book I hope the author follows through with some exeptional writing and plot twists.
