This statement "we Westerners place so much importance on the future that we forget to live in the present" got me thinking. There's truth in those words. This book must be filled with wisdom. Good review.

The Piraha tribes approach to life is very interesting, but I am of the opinion that, without a past knowledge and experience, one cannot live well in the present and look forward to future. Thanks for a critique of the book.

I'd love to know how civilization has robbed us of access to our innate emotional intelligence. This seems to me like a fresh perspective on things. Great review.

The reviewer sounds like Shupe did a good job in his book. It makes me want to read it. The Pirahas are an interesting tribe I'd like to know more about. Nice review.

I think this book gives us an insight of human civilization, and there are some critics of the definition of civilized people, especially in western country. People who are civilized must obey the rule that was given them, so that will be ignoring the true feeling of the human itself. I think this book is interesting. Nice review.

This sounds like an affront on civilization. I know that there are things that we have to sacrifice to enjoy civilization. However, I need to know the author's specific issues with civilization.

There is a reasonable debate that the development of the society and modern men has done more harm than good and I’ll like to see this books view on the matter

The author is so right. Civilization has started doing harm than good. Numerous cultures and traditions are being forgotten.

I agree with some of the ideas stemming from this book, and those I might not agree with, I can appreciate. Never has life been more overwhelming than in these "morden" times. I could use a radical read like this.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. I am not currently interested in a self-help book, but if I want to read about this author's idealistic views for a better mental lifestyle and having more free time, I will certainly circle back to this one.

This is a self help book that discusses the problems of civilisation especially the mental and spiritual problems. Civilisations is so busy working on the future that the present is forgotten and not enjoyed. It is a serious problem and the author in this book makes us understand that. Good one from the author. Congratulations on being the book of the day! Nice review too.

What makes this self-help book stand out is the author's ability to accurately diagnose problems affecting the modern-day society. The author equally dispenses great wisdom in his writing.

This is quite an informative and insightful self help book. Focusing on oneself, instead of listening to the opinion of others is a lovely thing to do.
Thanks for the review.
