Review of Man Mission
Quite a several times, we desire in our hearts to go on vacation, to escape from the stress in our lives. We want to escape reality at times to where we are away from the hustle and bustle happening around us.
Man Mission, an autobiography by Eytan Uliel, is centered on this very part. This story is about four friends who take time out of their busy schedules every year to engage in manly activities. They use this opportunity to get away from their jobs and family. This idea is first planted in the narrator's mind when he was in law school. His only friends then are Daniel and Alec before he meets Sam in law school. He shares this fantasy with Sam, who also accepts it to be fun, but the idea dies there. This was until Sam calls the protagonist to remind him of the fantasy.
The first trip to New Zealand is first taken by Sam and the protagonist when they went hiking. The journey ended in disaster when the protagonist broke his ankle. On the next trip, Daniel joins them and becomes their planner. Then, finally, Alec joins, and together they created numerous memories.
The very one thing I so much love about this story is the friendship between these four. Such a relationship is very rare, and I'll say that was what got to me the most, aside from the trips. Together, they overcame the various issues they faced in their different lives. It's always a good thing to know that you have someone there for you every time.
Another thing I love is the way the book was able to dish out information. I never knew an activity like kayaking existed until I read this novel. I learned about new countries I never knew existed before, cultures, different dishes, and tourist places I'd not heard about before. There's no way you won't feel that thrill they experienced while reading this novel. The author achieved impressive results, carrying the readers along.
Not only was the book informative, but it was also very amusing. The narrator was an interesting character.
I dislike nothing about this book except for the font size. It was not easy reading those tiny texts.
The story was exceptionally and perfectly edited. I couldn't detect any errors. I'll rate the book 4 out of 4 stars.
Furthermore, I'd recommend this to adventure lovers. They'll really love it.
