I think the author presents this memoir as a tribute to his wife. It is important that we reflect on the imminent destiny of death and the ever-constant race of life. I believe one must weigh the quest for the achievement of life's purpose and goals against the brevity of human life. I think this is a reading from which we can learn life lessons.

Thanks for your review. The author must have loved his wife very much to write a memoir of her life.

This looks like a very touching story that the author has written about his wife. I had not heard of the term dyspnea, but after finding that it is a very common ailment, for a variety of reasons, it is probably understandable that the doctors did not recognize the problem at first. Not surprising, she had a phobia about death and dying after such an horrific experience at a young age. I shall add this to my reading list.

The picture on the cover matches Beauteous and I think it's an interesting way of dealing with grief to write out a memoir in honour of those who are resting in peace.
I was a little lost over logjam as it's not explained in the official review but I got it in the
comment from Margi zuu202.
As for reflecting on impending death, if one has only learnt to cling to this miserable life and not come at some point to let go phobias, that person will constantly live in fear and probably due from thereof. A positive beauteous mind goes a long way in recovery or not from terminal illness.

I love reading novels about love and passion. I really admire Peter’s love towards his wife, Mona. It’s amazing.

This book is centered on religion and the life of Peter Simon's wife. The take away for me from this book is : " All beauty shines forever"

This is a very emotional memoir the author dedicated to his wife. Through the author’s writing, his love for his wife Mona is evident as she goes through her ailment. The review made me curious regarding the “superstitions” in the book.

My general opinion of this book is positive and I’d recommend it to people who would like to read books that center or discuss death. I don’t want to read it but I might give it a chance.

LOGJAM of a Beauteous MIND compels readers to explore the realities of life, however uncomfortable they may seem. The looming doom of death and the ever-constant race of life plays in the reader's mind throughout the read. The author presents, for contrast, our quest for the achievement of purpose and life goals against the brevity of human life. Readers will be challenged to confront their mortality to become more comfortable with their phobia for the unknown end. It is incredible how the author, despite the graveness of the central narration of this memoir, manages to include humor in his recount. However, the humor may appear twisted to some readers. He even showcases his positivity when he categorically states that "nothing good can perish ___all Beauty shines forever."
It is, indeed, uncomfortable. Nobody wants to explore the possibility of their own demise or that of their loved ones. But it's inevitable.
Peter exposes readers to a possibility of the existence of another realm in the spirit — a possibility that may appear superstitious. For instance, Peter thinks that blackbirds' appearance bears similar significance to the appearance of vultures in the African setting as harbingers of doom or a bad omen. Perhaps it is this disbelief in 'superstitions' that Peter seeks to challenge. He hopes to compel the reader to examine these possibilities, which civilization, computerization, and science have seemingly relegated to the background.
There are different ways of understanding our world. I don't think we should relegate all of this kind of knowledge to the realm of superstition but, instead, consider it as traditional knowledge and allow ourselves an open enough mind to explore it.

Great review!

Awwwn it sounds like a sweet story. Nothing like love that can stand the test of time. Mona and Peter seem to have built an amazing life together. I feel the religious part could add up to the overall enjoyment.

From what I read in the review. The book sounds lovely. I would like to read it but I refrain from reading non-fiction books because of the sadness I so often feel at the end.

I do not know what "logjam of a beauteous mind" means, so I had to really read and understand the premise of the book in order to get an idea of what this phrase means. It seems that this refers to the effect of cancer and chemotherapy on her brain/mind. Congratulations to the author for BOTD!
