Lovely review. This is such a beautiful children's book. I love the relationship between Leroy and his family; their sense of togetherness and teaching Leroy moral values. There are many life lessons contained within the pages: showing love, forgiveness, being kind to others even when you think they don't deserve it. I think the angry toolbox learnt the best lesson of all: that showing kindness to others makes a happier you. Kudos to the author on a well written book and being selected for today's read.

Personification is a great tool for children's stories. I found it interesting since the only tools I've used are pliers, a screwdriver, and a hammer. This is a book I would enjoy reading to preschoolers since they would be more likely to be unfamiliar with the concept of being kind so people will like you more. Thanks for the perceptive review.

:romance-heart: :romance-heart: I don't have the same opinion on this one. I was so excited to read it as I love children's books, especially ones that talk about emotions and especially the ones that talk about strong emotions that are not so well seen by society.
I have to say that I was very disappointed to see how the toolbox's anger was managed. All the other toolboxes were saying mean things and mocking the 'angry box'. No one cared to help the 'angry box' and only demanded to just be happy without even asking why it was so angry. Anger it's a valid emotion that we should work on and help each other to go through it and not simply ignore and shoot it and ask them to magically go away. Imagine that you are angry because you were wrongfully fired and someone tells you to just be holy or no one will like you and hire you again. This book is teaching children to not be honest about their feelings and to smile even when they are not happy otherwise they are not deserving of love. When they are. Specifically when they are being bullied like the 'angry box'.
And even though the 'angry box' was finally happy since someone showed her some affection everyone still kept calling it the 'angry toolbox '. This teaches another wrong message saying that even if you are finally happy you will always be remembered for the one mistake you did.
I would not recommend it! Respectful parenting is the key <3

Children's books that teaches valuable life lessons, are an important part of any parents bookshelf. A great selection for today's BoTD.

Having positive attitude and giving others a chance are valueable and important in social relationship. It is been a long time since I read a children book with personification in it. Somehow it got me anxious when imagining a random tool is talking or moving by itself. Nice review.

This book sounds as if positive actions are not only good for the sake of being good. This book lets children know that positive behaviors will get them further.

How cute! I love how Leroy has faced with a challenge with this toolbox but is willing to learn how to deal with it. This seems like a great book, especially for kids who have a dad who works in a trade. Thanks for the review!

If I had children I would definitely read this book to them! Positivity is underrated in today’s society. The consequences of negativity is an excellent lesson to learn at a young age! Thanks for the review!
