Racial discrimination is something that most fights against in society. It causes significant harm to individuals, families, societies, and even countries. Because of racism, many people are denied the opportunity to demonstrate their worth. He would have been silenced, but for Dr. Frank L Douglas's tenacity and determination. Defining Moments of a Free Man from a Black Stream describes a young man's journey away from home to a foreign land. It explicitly describes the author's difficulties as well as his success in the foreign land.

Frank is a bright and intelligent individual. After finishing high school in Guyana (now Guyana), he took the Senior Cambridge Examination and placed first. This enabled him to receive a scholarship to the United States for his undergraduate studies at Lehigh University. Frank then went on to Cornell University for graduate school. This is the start of Frank's academic career. You might want to pick up this book if you want to learn more about the rest of his journey.

This novel is a memoir written by the author. And I'd say it's one of, if not the, best I've read. I admire his zeal and bravery. Reading about some of his tribulations can be depressing. I'm curious how he overcame each of them. Especially when he passes a course and the professor fails him on purpose because of his skin color. To be honest, if I were the one, I doubt I would have continued on to other schools as Dr. Douglas did. I'm sure it'll be the same everywhere. Furthermore, I admire his tenacity and spirit.

This novel taught me a lot of things. When I saw something mentioned here that I didn't know before, I went to Google to look it up. I had no idea Muhammad Ali was once known as Cassius Clay. Also, I don't think I'll ever forget that John F. Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States, or how he died. The importance of having good and supportive people in one's life cannot be overstated. Dr. Douglas' father was not present in his life, but he had Uncle Willie and some professors who looked after him. That's fantastic.

I found nothing negative about this story. It is both inspiring and motivating. It's fantastic. As a result, I give it 4 out of 4 stars. The author did an excellent job and led an exemplary life. I was disappointed, however, when he had to abandon his faith when things were difficult for him. However, it is understandable.

Similarly, I found no errors while reading. As a result, it's exceptionally edited. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys memoirs and historical fiction. A few historical facts are mentioned here. Because there are only a few instances of profanity, it is also appropriate for young adults.
