Best free apps for opening epub files

I use Nook and Ice Cream on my HP Pavilion with Windows 8.1 and Kobo for my android smartphone. Ice Cream can also be used on my smartphone but I haven't tried it. Although I prefer Ice Cream reader over my Nook reader.

When I was still reading on my PC my favorite app was Cool Reader, and I also have it on my Android phone. It's also available on Mac and Linux. I also had it installed on my Kobo Touch, but I have no idea if it's available on other e-readers. Besides epub it can read all major file types expect PDF. What I liked best about it was how easy it was to use and customize.

I am using a free app called PocketBook. So far it is awesome and the developers say it can work for both iOS and Android. I am using an Android Tablet and loving the experience. I like that PocketBook opens pdf,mobi,epub and word files so I don't have to get apps for every format. Also, it is easy to use and contains interesting features for highlighting, chaging the backround colour and the pages open like a real book.

I use Aldiko on my android. It is very easy to use and I have never encountered any problems when opening epub files. It is free on play store but they also have Aldiko Premium which comes at a small price and has more features.
I have been using this application for about five years now and I am very happy with it.

I use Sumatra PDF on my laptop while I just use adobe Reader on my android. The Sumatra PDF requires a little technical know-how to use, but if you want to feel as if you're reading on a paperback, the app has some advanced settings that would allow you to change the background color and font size.

I love to Moonreader. I read a of ebooks and I could never go wrong at the versatility and simplicity of this mobile app.

I use Rakuten Kobo when reading on my Android smartphone. It's pretty easy to use and you can import books from your SD card or just buy or download free ones from the app. However, if you previously imported books and later on download from the app, the book covers of your imported books disappear and you only have those gotten directly from the app. Shouldn't be a big deal if you can live with that I use Icecream ereader on my PC. Opens mobi, epub, PDF... I love it.

There is an App called FB Reader that reads all file types, it's free and amazing. I have been using it on my Android for a few years now and it has changed the way I read books. It has all of the same features as my Kindle Fire but honestly I prefer it. You can download add ons for it, from a bookshelf, to text to speech. I know that they are compatible with a few different devices, but I've only used it on my phone so far.

I like reading by scrolling. But the app I use doesn't support more than a few formats. So when I got trouble, I go to an app named ReadEra. It is the best app I saw opening different files.

Wow, I never considered opening EPUB files. I've always converted them to pdf before using. Do any of you do that?

I have tried OBC app and it worked great, I am really happy with it.
