I remember being so engrossed in that book or rather the series that I had difficult time sleeping or eating. I carried those books everywhere. Even visiting friends. My parents had a hard time taking me away from those books. I even wrote the lines 'I am a bold, bad girl, I bark , I bite...." on someone's back. . But yes I did love that book.

This book really got me interested in reading the classics, and was soon followed by Robinson Caruso and the like. It will always be one of my favorites, as it introduced me to so many wonderful relatives

I wanted to run away from home and live in the woods with a falcon just like the main character did.
Had a big thing for tree forts for years after reading that book. I've always wanted to live in a tree, even now...
That book, and "Born Free" by Joy Adamson, as well as "Pippa,The Cheetah, And Her Cubs" also by Joy Adamson
Grade 4 was huge for me.
