"There are 45 poems in the book." Normally I would be turned off by this statement, but I find that I still want to read the book because it has life topics worth knowing about. Good review.

The themes covered are deep and meaningful. However, poetry is not my cup of tea so I will have to simply admire this book from afar.

Poems about slavery from the past are excellently followed by poems about racism from the modern era. I find it interesting that Sandra Leon Gonzalez found inspiration in the effect of COVID-19 on people's lifestyles.

The author touches on how to let go of the past and how to move forward through poems. Although am not big on poems, I don't quite understand their flow

The poetry in the book allows you to become encased in the authors fight for justice regarding many different discriminatory issues. I don’t normally read books of poetry, but this one managed to tug at my heart.

The review was very interesting, although the book itself didn't make me sigh. I love poetry and I appreciate the themes she dealt with, yet the rhyme is sometimes forced.

This sounds like a lovely book of poems for those who enjoy poetry. I have never been a poetry fan, so I am going to pass on this one. I think those who are poetry fans will be eager to read this book based on the excellent review!

I'm not much of a poetry fan but I like the themes covered in this book by the author. Slavery, racism, COVID-19 and how the pandemic affects the lives of people. The titles of the poems are so profound that one will like to pause, read and understand what the author has to say on the topic. The simple and clear words means readers like myself will not get confused about what the message is all about. Your review was concise and well-written.

Love your review well explained, the poem Simplicity in View, caught my attention in the first stanza reading, "It takes a village, But we have evolved into cities. With only fortune on our minds, We left our hearts behind."

I read the sample on Amazon as I was curious about the poetry. Not being well-educated in poetry, I wanted to check this book out. The colour photos accompanying the poems did add something to the meaning of the verses as they conveyed some of the emotions of the poet.

I found your review useful to better understand poetry as a medium for communicating messages and ideas. Thank you.

This book of poetry conveys ideas clearly without losing its essence. In addition, it covers a wide variety of topics, most of them current. It seems an excellent option for lovers of poetry.
