I am an ardent lover of poetry and this feels like an anthology that will liberate you from the shackles of the past. Can't wait to add it to my shelf. Great book.

I'm not a reader of poetry much, but sometimes in my own solitude I like to read things that rhymes or makes my brain tick. It seems like the author wrote this one well, the poems have their own theme.

Thank you so much for the review!

I'm not into poetry because of the ambiguous meaning. But I like that the author was able to express her thought in simple and clear terms. The positivity and optimism the author captured from those sad and dark themes are very well conveyed. And the picture in each section makes this book more captivating. Great review!

I'm not a huge fan of some poetry books, but this has piqued my interest. The poems are lovely and inspiring. I liked that they were creatively written too. Congratulations on being the Book of The Day.

This book of poems is well organized and easy to follow along. The inclusivity and attention to deep, societal topics such as slavery and racism, is what I find most intriguing. I also commend the author for the added pictures that flow throughout the book. Congrats on the BOTD!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting collection of poems covering a wide range of topics from both the past and present as well as more conceptual topics such as love. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This sounds like a great read for anyone interested in self-help, non fiction books. It is especially unique because the author talks about topics ranging from slavery to COVID 19 effects. That means it covers different generations. It's good that the author also talks about her family. Poetry is a great way to release emotions and heal.

Poetry is my favorite genre to read because it's so personal and freeing at the same time. I definitely have to get this book because it's a collection of personal thoughts and feelings.

I enjoyed reading the poetry in the sample, as there is a clear sense of unity projected through the author's words. The one about slavery is shows how teamwork and determination brought forth positive change. This is an inspiring book, based on what I know about it. Thank you for your review! :)

Thank you for the great review. I used to think I liked poetry, but most of what I've read lately, I don't understand. But I really enjoyed the sample of this book and all of the different subjects. It was simply described, but with wonderful words to convey meaning and emotions. I would like to add this book to my list of ones to read.

This really highlights some of the mental burdens that I’m struggling to overcome like learning to let go and make peace with the past. I love a book that is relatable,I guess it makes me feel less alone with my struggles and I’m sure there are things that I can take away and apply to my daily life. Can’t wait to have a read☺️

"Now I See" by Sandra Leon-Gonzalez is a 110-page book of poetry divided into 4 sections. Tears of My Ancestors is about slavery in past generations and racism in modern times. The Mirror Before Us contains poems that reflect the author's view of life while At First Sight includes poems about the author's love of her relatives and the 4th and final section deals with spirituality. There are 45 unforgettable poems in this book and readers should enjoy them. The official review focused on an interesting optimistic outlook on life where the line reads "You can't see the beauty of a forest if you focus on dead trees." This is a very profound line and is very meaningful. Very good review.

I don't really like poems as they tend to be complex. But this one seems very realistic and interesting. Maybe I'll give it a try. Congratulations on BOTD.
