It seems this question is best suited for someone like me. I lost both parents at a very young age. It was challenging for me. Growing up and learning about God's love and faithfulness, it became hard to still acknowledge that. This was the point I realized how and why it was hard for people to believe in God after a trauma. But against the odds, I still believe.

I believe people lose faith in God after something tragic occurs in their lives, because they always believe God is the cause of everything that occurs in their lives. As a result, they ask themselves many questions about why God keeps punishing them; this clearly shows they have lost faith in God.

Tripodo's faith is a replical of what is happening in the world today and it is so inspiring. You can be in the most difficult situations in life that could make you lose faith in God. But one thing you have to belive is that what God cannot do does not exist. Just keep trusting in God and worry less, He will make everything right again in a twinkle of an eye.

I do think traumatic experiences tend to bring people close to God. I feel like those who lose in faith after traumatic experience are the ones in the first place whk never believed in God before or even the experience.

I think this is a thing that can go either way. For some loss can reinforce their faith but for some it can serve as what destroyed it. It is very difficult to pretend how one will take loss and relate it to their faith.

You can't just put this in general terms. People respond to situations and traumas differently. Some come out beaten up and subdued. Others come out unscathed.

I have read quite a lot of books about people who did not weaver in their faiths after some traumatic experiences. I guess that it's why we feel that no body loses their faith. But it all depends.

It’s also knowing that you may never see the intended good come from the experience. I think that Mr. Tripodo’s experience is so inspiring because he knows where his wife ends up and that he will see her again. At least that’s my opinion.
This is why a lot of people waver in their faiths. There are things that one can't have faith for. There are situations that comes to test your faith and wins.

anne Irungu wrote: 05 Sep 2022, 12:32 i think the more appropriate question is whether it is okay to lose faith in God after a traumatic experience? I think losing faith is more of a first response to the situation because a person is usuaaly in aplace where he/she is looking for somebody or something to blame.
If one loses faith in God after a traumatic experience, I sit right to say that the person had faith in God in the first place. Faith is not about believing when things are going well. It is also about believing when things are not.

1. The faith was never that strong to begin with.
2. The lost person was a vital pillar in their life as well as an ardent believer in God
I think a way to build a strong faith is to believe in God while also bearing in mind that terrible things can still happen to them and their loved ones. Whichever case, Gos still cares about us and his plans are for our good

In my belief, people do blame God for the same reasons but losing faith after a traumatic is another story because as Christians we need faith, and praying is the only faith we have thank you.

The worst aspect of Christianity is how frequently believers declare their faith without actually living it. Christians often lose sight of what God is able to accomplish when faced with even the smallest obstacle.

I honestly did not find Tripodo's determination to hold onto his faith all that admiral. I don't follow any particular faith, and find this determination to hold onto one's faith to be quite... childish, really. Many give their troubles into the hands of God instead of setting their mind to fix their troubles themselves. To me, this is like shirking. Like a child, they believe someone else will come along and fix their problems for them.

The worst part about Christianity is that often, Christians tend to profess but not practicalize it. At every slightest challenge, Christians tend to forget what God is capable of doing.

People or Christians lose their faith at every slightest challenge or temptation they face. Some tend to blame God as the cause of their misfortune. I think reading this book will help re-structure their minds.
