Also, there is some stereotyping of Latinos and women, which may offend some readers.
These two statements are attributes I've noticed about the author's writing style as well, and I do find it offensive at times. Thank you for your refreshingly honest take on this read, and congrats on having your review featured with the BOTD.

This book has a very intresting plot. I wouldn't read it because of the rating. Good review.

Thanks for your honest review, but this kind of story could thrill the reader if this review is taken into consideration

I am amazed by your comprehensive analysis of this book. I commend the author, Greenberg, for the nice job done in creating a cohesive plotline and for keeping the story forward. The fact that this novel is exceptionally well-edited is also worth praising. However, I wish he address the negative concerns raised in this review, especially by creating characters with unique voices and traits.

I enjoy reading muder mysteries. I love how you ended your summary in a suspenseful way. I hope Hank uncovers the killer. Nicely written review.

Today's BOTD is for readers who like a more laid-back type of mystery where they can sit back, relax, and watch it all unfold before their very eyes. Filled with descriptions and details about the characters, scenes, and events, this one sounds like a great weekend read. Thank you for your review! :-)

This book feels like an ice burg. The murder is just the beginning. The plot then explodes into trafficking stolen military weapons.

Murdered and dumped in a garbage can. This sounds interesting! I hope Hank finds out the people who committed the crime.

I got interested with the book on the first part of the review but I think I would not read this. I was also looking for a thrilling experience and good dialogues. I guess I'll pass on this novel. Thank you for the review.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting crime/mystery novel following a CIA agent tasked with investigating the murder of a waste management CEO. The story takes into consideration the hardships that those working in the waste disposal industry face. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This sounds like fascinating mystery-crime novel. I'm already interested to the plot. The new trash collector team up with a CIA agent to solve the murder of the CEO? Even though it has some flaws in character development and also the offensive stereotype commentaries, I'm pretty sure this book is still enjoyable. Thank you for an honest and critical review.

I was able to read the excerpt on Amazon, and I have to agree with the "mechanical" descriptor of the dialogue. It does seem fairly mechanical, like when we think of better things to say in a conversation hours after the fact.

I think, personally, I'm inclined to agree with most of your review based on the excerpt. It seems like a fairly safe story as far as thrillers go, so it might be a better read for someone that isn't up to gorier details, or just wants a general "whodunnit".

Thanks for your review!!

Thank you for your honest review. The sample didn't get to the murder, so I can't respond to any of that. It was easy to read, but not exciting like you said, just typical conversation. I don't read a lot of the crime thrillers, and not in the mood for them right now, so I will pass on this one. Too bad there was several incidents of stereotyping in it too. I hope the next book is better, as he has written several books.
