Review of Reconfigurement
When the United States introduced Social Security in 1935, the government believed it was economical because the life expectancy rate then was 62 years. But today, the average American life expectancy is about 77 years and still rising. This new norm means that employees of this era would need to make plans that make up the projected extra years to live. Hence, E. Alan Fleischauer, in his book, Reconfigurement, emphasized the need for workers to begin to reconfigure by preparing for their retirement while they are still in service.
The book is a thirteen-chapter book that contains vital and strategic information on the best insurance policy plans, retirement package plans, investment plans, etcetera.
To start with, what I like most about this book is the professionalism the author adopted to present his ideas to his audience. The author examined each topic from a diverse point of view; and gave the advantages and disadvantages of each plan. However, the author also cautions that readers should consult experts on each subject for further advice.
Again, the author's writing style was simple language and easily comprehendible. The author also added many jokes in the book that held my focus and attention throughout my reading time. I think most readers would also find this style of writing fascinating.
What I found least appreciative about this book is that the information and illustrations are from the American economy, which thus makes the book most suitable for American readers. Again, the typos I found in the later part of the book almost made me think that those sections of the book; were edited by a different person. Although, that did not take away from my comprehension of the vital information contained in this book, as the jokes kept me turning pages.
I happily rate Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer a four out of four stars because the author presented valuable tips on how people can start early preparation for life after retirement from a professional point of view, considering the available options. Again, the avoidance of many technical terms throughout this publication contributed to my high rating of this book. It makes the book suitable for readers of all ages and educational backgrounds.
I recommend Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer to young and old readers; who are still in active service or close to retirement. Also, I think business-inclined readers would find the investment ideas the author presented in this book very valuable.
