Are you retired? Are you about to retire? Would you like to plan your retirement but don't know how? Then do not worry. The book Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer has proven to be a useful tool in retirement planning. As a young person, retirement might seem far-fetched to you. But after reading this book, you will be motivated to start early to plan your retirement. It provided suggestions for people close to the age of retirement and those who are already retired.

Reconfigurement is an uncommon word. But in the context of this book, it meant planning. There were several suggestions in the book about creating a real solution for retirement. It discussed spending strategies and income protection tips for retirees or people close to retirement age. It answered many difficult and complex questions commonly asked concerning retirement. It covered multiple subjects like reverse mortgages, long-term care insurance, Social Security, disability protection, and other topics.

I liked a lot of things in this book. I liked the author's writing style. He wrote his suggestions in a reasonable and mild tone. He did not write in such a way as to impose his ideas on readers. His ideas were written in the form of a discussion. It made me feel involved in the book. I even tried out some of the things he wrote. The diagrams and charts in it were quite useful. It helped to add more sense to the book. I found the jokes in the book to be humorous. They added spice to it.

There wasn't much to dislike in this book. The only thing negative I found in it was that some parts of the book, especially the beginning, were boring. There was good and insightful information in the book. This included highlighted tips for the writing and issuing of wills and also listed procedures for the amendment of wills if the need arose. It referred readers to personal tax advisors before any financial decisions could be made. There were also guides on career assessment, which you might be interested in trying.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I found no errors. It was exceptionally well-edited. What I liked in the book surpassed what I disliked. Though some parts of the book were boring, the inclusion of the jokes by the author helped to ease my boredom. This would help in attracting and maintaining a reader's interest. There are links and extra sources provided by the author for further reading. It shows that the author did very thorough research before writing this book. I recommend this book to people who are close to retirement age. I also recommend it to those who would like to boost their career. There were several ideas in the book about it.

My personal opinion is that this book does not merely touch on the planning aspect of things. It also shares how retirement and financial planning can be a thing of the mind. A lot goes into planning for retirement, so one really cannot go into with a lax mindset. All age groups will benefit from this book.
