Review of The Fantastic Adventures of a Little Green Elf
Sticky is a skinny, sticky elf on a mission to find his sister Faylin. He embarks on a fantastic adventure with his two best friends, Robyn and Dumbley. Robyn has brought her magical backpacks, which allow them to carry a lot of stuff while remaining lightweight. People are intrigued by Sticky's name, which they find amusing; however, they are unaware that he possesses unique abilities to form gooey bubblegum stuff from his hands, which enables him to help others and himself in difficult situations. Robyn, on the other hand, is capable of healing and uses her powers to make people feel better whenever they are injured or ill. Join Sticky and his friends on an adventure of a lifetime.
One positive aspect I found with the book is the qualities it teaches young readers. Sticky and his friends go around assisting anyone in need. They helped a poor lost dog that was getting poked by some bullies. Sticky and his friends don't want any money for the assistance they provide; the smiles they bring to people's faces are enough for them. I also liked the brightly colored drawings of the characters and their surroundings. I must compliment the author on the excellent illustrations.
There is nothing I disliked about the book. The plot was intriguing, and the characters were well-developed.
I rate The Fantastic Adventures of a Little Green Elf 4 out of 4 stars. That is due to the lessons depicted in the book for young readers to emulate. The story emphasizes the importance of helping our neighbors. I did notice a few grammatical errors, but they did not detract from my enjoyment of the book, thus the rating. The book was professionally edited. Rene Cournoyer has done an excellent job, and I look forward to reading the remaining books in the series.
I recommend this book to older children with a well-developed vocabulary because the words used in the book are a little complex, and younger children may not fully comprehend them in some instances.
