The events depicted in the novel are not merely limited to American culture. People in positions of power have assumed leadership responsibilities all over the world as a part of some game to gain irrational power, whether it be in the form of money or other power. When morally upright people pay attention to these vices, it kind of provides us a decent negotiating position with heartless autocrats.
I find it fascinating to learn how its inhabitants deliberately scam the government by filing for disability benefits and relying on EBT. To be able to figure out these tricks, the author must have conducted a significant amount of research.
