It's always refreshing when one comes across a book that is well researched and captures historical events without any sugar-coated facts. These Sacred Lands by James Harold Kelly, is a historical fiction that shows the brutal struggle between the Native Americans, who want to protect their ancestral lands and the white settlers, who want lands to farm. Iook forward to reading this fascinating book.

I am so grateful for the review, so very descriptive that I experienced the bout of nostalgia. I was raised on reading classical literature and Fenimore Cooper's books were one of my favorite adventures. "First and Always" series' atmosphere looks somewhat similar and I would gladly read those stories, not only for awesome plots, but as a tribute to my childhood dreams as well. Congrats on BOTD!

This book is a historical fiction novel with elements of Native American history as well as military history. I especially appreciate the accuracy and the character development among the main characters. I wonder if the two young men's friendship endures throughout the troubled times. Congrats on the BOTD!

These Sacred Lands is a Historical Fiction written by James Harold Kelly
It is a second book to I am a Soldier ,First and Always". The author included two maps, before Prologue.
For the Laloka Sioux who still hold the Black Hills sacred, the Whites had a name for their encroachment -Manifest Destiny. Their were Seven Lakota Tribes who
lived hunted and roamed across the Western Territories in the Nineteenth Century. I am looking forward to reading more of this book. Congrats on being BOTD! :)

Today's book of the day is a historical-fiction book that takes a reader back in time to the battles and events of the Great Sioux War fought in the late 1800s. Although the second in the series, I can't wait to read it. Congrats on being the #BOTD!

Two major factors have caught my attention, making me want to read this book. (1) the fact that there are maps and illustrations in the book and (2) the book cover. Congratulations to today's Author.

Thanks for an excellent review on this book. I enjoy historical fiction with a western theme, so I think I would like reading this kind of story. Finding out how the friendship between Joshua and Shadow Hawk grows and hopefully can stand the test of trials would be interesting.

I love historical fiction and know very little about the Great Sioux War, so I'm excited for the opportunity to jump into this one!

This is an amazing historical fiction novel highlighting history, American maps, and the Great Sioux War fought in the late 1800s. The book is temporarily discounted on Amazon Kindle and has an inciteful OnlineBookClub review. Congrats @623Kellyja on the BOTD selection.

This sounds like a novel worth reading far into the night. Most of the world would love to hear first-hand from the Red Indian's narratives how they ended up there and if their ancestors immigrated from another part of the planet.
Perfect review and the storyline is an adventure worth undertaking some day. A movie based on nature would be much in appreciated of course if it doesn't ruffle feathers of the history of powers that be.
