Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Galen Bray was raised in a nation torn apart by war, poverty, and despair. He finds out that his uncle is Galen Onita. His uncle desires for him to receive a forge. Galen Bray embarks on a boat trip to Magnum Caelum in search of greener pastures. When he finds out about his uncle's passing, he is distraught. Nevertheless, he gains knowledge by becoming a blacksmith like his uncle. Rowan, his uncle's enforcer, assists him.
The events in this novel, which are set on the fictitious island of Voulhire, are seen through the perspectives of a variety of different Voulhire residents, most of whom belong to the island's higher caste. While people in the higher caste are all too familiar with the history, traditions, and happenings in Voulhire, Galen Bray is not. Parts of the novel are also recounted from Galen Bray's perspective, a newcomer to Voulhire. The reader is continuously given new information about Voulhire's history, customs, historical mysteries, and mystical powers throughout the course of the narrative.
The fantasy novel We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is filled with action, suspense, drama, and mystery. The book, which is the first in the series, established a strong foundation for the succeeding works.
There are some positive aspects of this book that made me enjoy reading it. First, the book's inclusion of several viewpoints pleased me. Second, I commend the author of this book, Matthew Tysz, for doing a great job, as the book was simple to grasp and follow. Also, the book's detailing was excellent, and the author did a great job on it. The characters had a lot of depth. I also appreciated that the supporting characters had substantial roles to play in the story. Galen had a likable personality as he was very modest and thoughtful. Rowan's character was amusing, which is why I liked him too. Lord Aldus is another person I appreciate because he exemplifies what a good leader ought to be.
I would recommend this book to fans of fiction, suspense, fantasy, action, and thrillers. I would like to mention that this book was exceptionally well edited, as I did not encounter any errors while reading it. Also, I can't think of any negative aspects of this book. I totally enjoyed reading it and did not dislike anything about it. For all the above reasons, I am rating We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz 4 out of 4 stars.
