I love a good murder mystery, but when it's mixed with mage and magic, it doesn't feel real. So not really my thing. But figuring out the culprit so fast would've been a good ego boost. I wonder if Aleese Hughes is related to Scott Hughes? If yes, the family talent is quite evident. Thanks for an interesting review!

This modern mystery has an engaging plot line and combines mystery and magic seamlessly. I especially find the world building to be done efficiently and the ending opens up for a sequel. I'm curious to know what Julie and Russel are hiding. Congrats on the BOTD!

When it comes to magic, fantasy etc most people in real life have a strong doubt for it with the reason mentioned " do you like fantasy stories with mages and magic?" above. That alone will want me to have the book and find out in the story and that makes it a good review.

Inspector Mage by Aleese Hughes is a one of its kind of a novel in which the author does an excellent does of mixing two different genres that is mage and magic along with a good amount of mystery. Also the blend between the two has been done beautifully that represents extraordinary writing skills on the author's part. I guess this book is definitely worth reading, so go ahead and enjoy it !!
