I love a good murder mystery, but when it's mixed with mage and magic, it doesn't feel real. So not really my thing. But figuring out the culprit so fast would've been a good ego boost. I wonder if Aleese Hughes is related to Scott Hughes? If yes, the family talent is quite evident. Thanks for an interesting review!

Thanks for the excellent descriptive review. I like murder mysteries. This would be a perfect read for me. Hence it has no profanity or sexual content.

This modern mystery has an engaging plot line and combines mystery and magic seamlessly. I especially find the world building to be done efficiently and the ending opens up for a sequel. I'm curious to know what Julie and Russel are hiding. Congrats on the BOTD!

This sounds like a book I would read. I’ve never really been into crime, but I love fantasy books. So to combine the two genres seems interesting. I love a complex read.

When it comes to magic, fantasy etc most people in real life have a strong doubt for it with the reason mentioned " do you like fantasy stories with mages and magic?" above. That alone will want me to have the book and find out in the story and that makes it a good review. :techie-studyinggray:

This book seems to be filled with fantasy and mystery, and although the reviewer states that the ending is predictable, I don't think that will affect my enjoyment of the book. Great review!

I like murder mystery stories. Russell Gaines seems to be a good detective. I'd like to read about his detective skills and whether he'll eventually solve the murder mystery he just got paid to solve. Fortunately for me, this book is free book of the day today!
Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

Mage gifts and New Age Gods is not my scene. This is two books that will not be in my taste. I do like murder mysteries but not with magic and mage and all that. I will be skipping this book.

It looks like a thrilling sci fi novel, with an engaging murder mystery. Though, the poor character development of Russell may be a drawback to me reading this novel. Great review.

Inspector Mage by Aleese Hughes is a one of its kind of a novel in which the author does an excellent does of mixing two different genres that is mage and magic along with a good amount of mystery. Also the blend between the two has been done beautifully that represents extraordinary writing skills on the author's part. I guess this book is definitely worth reading, so go ahead and enjoy it !!
