I have come in contact with people in similar situations to that of Tripodo, and most times they lose faith in God, when they keep hoping for their prayers to be answered but the situation still remains the same.

I do not think it happens often, but I believe that there are times when one loses faith in God due to the traumatic experience that one has encountered. It is dependent on varying factors like the strength of their faith, their environment, and other things.

Hard times and the loss of loved ones make people lose their faith in God. It is sad but no one knows the mind of God. One can only have faith like Ron and be hopeful.

I understand why you find it difficult to understand why some OBC readers admires Tripodo's acts of faith. You're an atheist, and that, in my opinion, is the reason. hypothesis is correct and the majority of Christians still have faith in God after losing their loved ones or going through some traumatic experience, then what exactly is so inspiring about Ron Tripodo's experience? Traumatic experiences, in most cases tend to shake people's faith in God.

After catastrophic events, the majority of people do, in fact, lose religion. Their tales are just occasionally not told. It might be quite difficult to be a believer and deal with a challenging situation. You had hoped to get divine assistance during the encounter, and you still firmly think that you did, which is why. You start to doubt everything when it doesn't occur.

I believe most people start to question God when they are in difficult situations because in those times they don't understand why God would let such a thing happen.

I think a lot of people’s faith in God shakes after a traumatizing event. Some people totally lose faith in God, but there are other people whose faith in God remains strong and I have encountered all three categories of people.

Life is tough and unfair. When one is all alone and others seem to be succeeding, they'll feel very down. Like there is no love in this world and as God is Love, one can doubt his existence.

This is the reality. Some have suffered way worse than others. They've seen depths of pain and what may feel like hell so why won't they doubt the existence of God when they do not see any light in front of them. Everyday, a new torture to endure and all they need is hope. God's hope and miracle to make them feel loved and protected.

In reality, it's difficult to handle losing a loved one. Many people will believe that God has abandoned them or that he doesn't exist at all when something similar occurs. I can't blame them because everything was pointing in that direction at the time.

The most important thing is that you continue to cling to God in the face of all these difficulties. As the narration in the book has so emphatically stated, it takes trust to do it.

Being a believer and facing a difficult situation can be very hard. This is because going through the experience, you had hoped that you'd get supernatural help, and you strongly believe. When it doesn't happen, you start questioning everything. Therefore getting to a point of seeing the good out of a difficult situation is nerve wrecking . Those who survive and come out better, it means their faith stood the test of time. Therefore the reason why they are celebrated. In my opinion.

I concur with you. When someone experiences adversity and survives it while remaining faithful, their faith is recognized.

Missing Person wrote: 02 Sep 2022, 15:30 I've seen a lot of discussion about how inspiring Tripodo's faith in God was. I've also seen many stories of Christians holding onto their faith after losing a loved one. In fact, I've seen so many of these stories of Christians holding onto their faith after a traumatic experience that I've come to the conclusion that the majority of Christians hold onto their no matter how much pain and suffering they experience, and that suffering is not the principle reason why most Christians lose their faith in God.

If my hypothesis is correct and the majority of Christians still have faith in God after losing their loved ones or going through some traumatic experience, then what exactly is so inspiring about Ron Tripodo's experience? Why were so many OBC readers impressed with Tripodo's faith? As an atheist, I find it difficult to understand some readers admiration for Tripodi's faith.

If the majority of Christians lost their faith in God after a traumatic experience then I would understand how inspiring Tripodo's faith would seem. But this is not the case. I've seen trailers for Christian movies talk about Christians becoming atheists after losing a loved one. For example, in the movie Let There Be Light, Dr. Sol Harkens lost his son to cancer and then became an atheist. The movie is about how Harkens regains his faith. If Harken's experience is a common one, then that would mean Tripodo's faith was a very impressive feat, if not that would mean that, at least in my eyes, his faith was a not meaningful factor in the heartbreaking ordeal he had to endure.

A person who loses his faith due to tough times, had always had a shaky foundation or never truly believed fully. They probably always had doubts about their faith.

Brenda Creech wrote: 04 Sep 2022, 14:51 I found Tripodo's faith extremely admiral. I experienced several traumatic events very close together, and I lost my faith in God! I am not proud to admit it, but I was angry and couldn't understand why I was going through what I was at the time. I was a very dedicated Christian and very active in my church. I just turned my back and walked away from God and out into the world to live a completely different life! But you see, I couldn't run from God forever. I could never get
God off of my mind because I knew what I was doing was wrong. This went on for fifteen years before I turned back to God and my faith was renewed. While I was living for the world, God showed me the contrast between my two lives and I knew I couldn't make it any longer without Him. So you see, some Christians lose their faith in God in trying times. But once you have known God and had a personal relationship with Him you cannot go another way for very long without wanting to run back to God! I wish I had been as strong in my faith as Tripodo was!
I also wish I had the same deep rooted belief he had. It's rare

It is not uncommon for people to lost their faith in God after a traumatic experience. I have lost my faith several times, something I am not ashamed to say. I was glad tat I found my again every time but sadly, not everyone can boast of that. So, to me losing faith is normal, but finding it back is the ultimate goal.
