Carrasco '67 narrates the gripping tale of Peter Gray and his family in the hands of the distasteful underground Tupamáros during their soaring popularity in Uruguay around the late '60s. Thanks for your review.

I love historical fiction and as per your review the author did a good job in writing the scenes where the reader feels the adrenaline of the moment. Thank you for your review!

I am quite ashamed to admit that I know next to nothing regarding the history of Uruguay and thereby have no idea who Tupamáros were. Or still are?! It will be interesting to broaden my horizons and read gripping thriller about family unknowingly thrust into such a dangerous situation at the same time. Thanks for recommendation and congrats on BOTD!

From the glowing review and sample of the book, I can see that this is quite a suspenseful story. It certainly seems like the author has done a good amount of research to combine actual historical events with a fictional tale of one family's experiences when they are thrown into the world of an evil terrorist organization. I like the character of Peter and the narrative is engaging and fresh.

The story is so well constructed that seems like a true story. It must be frightening having to run from a terrorist organization. It appears the author has a broad knowledge of the topics associated with the actions of the Tupamaros in Uruguay at that time.

I'm excited to know about the history of Uruguay during the 1960's and how fiction was formed around it. I'm certainly intrigued by how family can get mixed up with a terrorist organisation. Thank you for the review!

Actually, the spelling's a mess. Not your fault since I assume you have no obligation to read Spanish. But the carelessness with which the author handled the Spanish spelling is borderline disrespectful. Otherwise, I can see how the premise could be engaging.
It was interesting to read your perspective. Thank you.

Historical political thrillers are not my genre but it seems like this book has an interesting synopsis. Adding a protector character like Peter and I am curious about this book. I haven't read many books set in Uruguay. Great review.
