It's indeed true that a blind man can never lead a blind man. Ever since the fall of Adam and Eve, our eyes have been blinded to the things of God. The gospel opens our eyes, removes the distortion of sin, and clears the fog of our misconceptions.

Seeing with Fresh Eyes by John W. Bullock is a nonfiction Christian book giving an account of the fall of Adam and Eve, and how it affected mankind and blinded us to the things of God. Then Jesus had to take up our sins and die so that we can all see with fresh eyes. This book urges readers to see and accept God's perspective over our own. We need to value God's truth above our preconceptions. The more we learn about God, the more He reveals Himself to us. When our eyes of understanding are opened, we begin to see ourselves with a fresh perspective, just like he sees every one of us. In the Old Testament, God provided a way for forgiveness through acts of obedience and commitment to Him. Now, Jesus has brought a better way. Why not accept that way?

This book happens to be one of the best enlightening Christian books about the fall of Adam and Eve, and I enjoyed every aspect of it. During the rebellion of Adam and Eve, it is certain that God didn't open their eyes, sin did. Sin opened their eyes to their inadequacy and lack. After eating the forbidden fruit, the knowledge of good and evil awakened their conscience to self-condemnation. The book of Proverbs 14:12 says, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." The way John was able to interpret and broaden the bible is something readers would marvel at. As it gives new insights into those portions of the bible we have read but not fully understood.

What I also liked about this book are the keywords and sentences used to introduce every new chapter. My favorite of all is that of chapter 9 which I quote, "The humble are saved and comforted by the justice and other of the kingdom of God". You might wonder why, but I'll leave that to you to ponder. There is nothing I disliked in this book. It is enlightening, easy to read, easy to understand, and at a steady pace, and it can serve as an interpretation book for those who don't have a full understanding of the Bible.

Finally, with all being said, I believe this book well deserves my rating of 4 out of 4 stars. This book is also professionally edited. I found just one typo in the entire book. I believe this book is amazing and can serve as an eye-opener. I recommend this book to lovers of nonfiction Christian books and those hoping and wishing to see with fresh eyes.
