Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
The book We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is about an exciting world of adventure and magic. A young man called Galen saw a chance to flee from the Land of the Princes. Darting like a hundred-meter athlete and with arrows missing him by a whisker, he came to a ship that was waiting for him. After presenting the papers that he had, the captain took him on board the vessel. Just then, the army that was after him arrived. The action that ensued was breathtaking. Is it a premonition of the things he will find in Voulhire?
Matthew Tysz did a brilliant job of presenting an array of characters in his amazing story. He blends them, ranging from an ordinary entertainer to an authoritative king. Voulhire has a dancing culture, and even the king danced during lighter moments. The people loved it, and I loved it too.
The book showed me, and I am appreciative of the fact that magic is a powerful force in disciplined hands. Magic can be used for good, but it can also be used for evil. For example, Matthew Tysz illustrated that in Alabaster. Alabaster was a wizard turned criminal. On the other hand, good can be seen in the work of the mageguards who practiced countermagic. I thank the author that, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies has a reference guide to make sure that readers understand the Voulhire vocabulary.
Of all the great characters in the book, Lord Eldus stands out for me. He is a family man, a social worker, a diplomat, and a counselor. Eldus counseled the children who were once abused by Lord Orlin. They opened up and spoke of very terrible things that were done by Orlin. I loved the excellent relationship Eldus had with his wife Charlotte and his children, Marshus and Isla. They were happy children, and it was a happy family.
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is a book of adventure and action galore. The action is well-detailed. My favorite chapter is when Alabaster tries to escape from his cell. He manipulated the guards, for he was a biomage. The tricky old man!
Fortunately, I found nothing wrong with We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz. The book was excellently edited. I would recommend the book to audiences who love adventure and action. Also, for those who enjoy sci-fi novels, this is the book for you. I will give it a 5 out of 5 stars rating.
