In the book "Down Heartbreak Boulevard" by Efren O'Brien, mystery and tension alternate. Historical data and fiction fit perfectly in this crime thriller. The character of private investigator Quinn is authentically thought-out.
The narration and description of events also made my reading experience pleasant. This book had a historical setting. While there were historical details about Russia and America, I like that it was not done in a manner that could overwhelm the reader
I like that the reading experience was pleasant and not overwhelming the reader. I will definitely look into this book. Thank you for a review well written.

Yes, I actually read the well-written review. This book seems more like a thriller than historical fiction, yet a child character is involved and I would read it to find out how he managed to survive- Americans do not kill children in their books...or do they?

A crime thriller well immersed in its historical situation seems intriguing with the Cold War becoming more intense during the 1950s, having the consequence of a fight among spies. The FBI was involved in the hunt for Russian spies and a private investigator got involved in this story. Thank you for your great review!

I love such espionage thrillers. I am already curious about what will happen to Aiden.

At first I thought the story revolves around Jimmy and how he'd redeem himself, then his son saw a crime and the latter's life was in danger. So much going on there

This work of historical fiction is fascinating because it combines crime, suspense, and mystery. Anticipating what will happen at the end. Excellent and simple to comprehend review.

This book seems nice. It would be mind-blowing if Aiden's and Jimmy's stories are related.

The book sounds great, the cover looks good and the storyline is catching, but to me deciding factor was 1950's setting. I like the era, it gives a unique atmosphere for the genre, since all my favorite detectives live in it and I was very eager to add Quinn to my collection. Unfortunately, despite promising it for free, the book is not available in Kindle format and Paperback isn't free. My hopes are crashed ((

I would have loved to download the book from Amazon, but a Kindle version is unavailable despite the information provided. Fortunately, I was able to check out a section on the Nook site. This sounds like a terrific story, and I may have to give it a whirl. Congrats to Mr. O'brien on his achievement and BOTD.

I like mystery-solving police procedure novels. I will check it out. It must be good as you didn't name one bad thing about it. Great review.

Great review, Raymond. It does sound interesting! I totally believe that too, that the government and world powers knit a narrative for everyone else to believe with only pieces of the truth, if any. I do have to read this book now to see the theories your talking about.
