This sounds like a suspense and thriller type, though it I'm kinda growing out of those adrenaline-spiking stories, heart-rending as the title suggests.
Pity knowing underhanded methods like the renowned FBI and other untouchable organisations; were everything brought to the light about their paranoia, it'd be worse than the crimes they pretend to investigate. Certainly leaves a bad taste....
I'd recommend it to young folks who are still into movies and crime-solving thirst.
Thanks for the official review.

Thank you for a great review; the crime and mystery elements being made the centre of the book's appeal is great, so much so that I'm regretting not having gotten my own soft copy. Congrats on making BOTD!

This historical mystery novella sounds like it is well-written and has just the right amount of suspense. Great review!

This book sounds like an interesting example of the crime noir subgenre, albeit set in the 1950s with the added layer of a U.S. vs. the Soviet Union subplot. That subgenre is often quite compelling when handled well, and with all the twists that this book seems to have, this story has a lot of promise. Thank you for the helpful review.

This suspenseful novel seems interesting. What could Jimmy, who has a bad reputation, want from a private investigator like Quinn? Can't wait to find out. Congrats on BOTD!

Wow! Historical fiction is not my favorite genre, but I think this book is more of a suspenseful thriller. It is true; government agencies will stop at nothing to ensure they get away with things. Thanks for the review!

Today's book of the day is no doubt a crime thriller immersed with so much mystery and suspense. Again, the plot is quite exciting and the historical details are admirable. I wish to congratulate the author on being the #BOTD

Down Heartbreak Boulevard by Efren Obrien is right up my alley. I like a good crime thriller with a private investigator as the protagonist. Look forward to reading this book.

I am not really into murder mystery novels as I find that once the murderer is revealed, my interest is gone. These kind of books don't leave a long-lasting impression.

Quite an interesting historical fiction. Will the FBI be able to solve this case?

I couldn't access the book through Amazon, but Barnes and Noble had it for free. After a hassle to get Nook downloaded, I read some pages. Your review was why I persisted in trying to access this book. I love mysteries and mayhem and your review told an intriguing tale of historical events which are being echoed in today's world. I thought that I was going to start Jack Winnick's East Wind next but not now. The Heartbreak Boulevard has pushed it to second place. Great review and congratulations to the author for BOTD honors.
