Review of KEYS TO HEALTHYCommunication
Keys to healthy communication: Authenticity, Empathy, and Empowerment, which is a joint publication by Bobby R. Palton Ph.D., Rusalyn H. Andrews Ph.D., and Jennifer Page Daily Ph.D. is a book that seeks to educate not just students, but the entire public on the importance of proper communication in our everyday life. It is a no-brainer that our generation has suffered greatly because of poor communication, which has resulted in a disastrous domino effect that has started from individuals down to families and even nations. We find out that because of lack of communication or even poor communication, which usually happens because of lack of sympathy, empathy, understanding, and even control, many relationships at different levels have been ruined. With the rise of Information and Communication Technology(ICT), particularly social media, we have been starved of genuine communication because of many factors like lack of trust, empathy, and authenticity, which the rise of fraud and scams has worsened.
Drawing from their vast well of knowledge, the authors enlighten the reader on the importance of proper communication and why we must try to make it happen, mentioning different problems that can arise from poor communication, which include conflict, depression, loneliness, and shortness of lifespan and even death.
The book has a lot of positive aspects and was also nicely written without any form of error. The explanations were clear, which is very important in books of this nature where the reader has to understand the topic of discussion, which in this case was communication. The structuring was superb with the way it began with an overview of health and wellness down to communication proper and how we get better at it.
The book had many important topics like empathy, self-disclosure, trust, empowerment, and societal roles. The barriers to healthy communication were identified and treated extensively with real-life examples. Even the pandemic was used as an example in different parts of the book to show the importance of communication and how its absence can affect the family and society at large.
Another positive aspect of the book is the fact that even though it was written by Ph.D. holders, it was still written in simple and comprehensive English, which will enable the reader to move smoothly without interruptions to look up words.
The book had no negative aspect as it had no single error, a testament to meticulous editing. Therefore, I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. I consider it a perfect book filled with lots of information about communication skills that everyone should know, judging from the way our world is going today.
I recommend the book to lovers of knowledge and everyone that wants to improve their communication skills because when we start communicating well with the application of empathy, the world will be a better place.

Communication and comprehension goes hand in hand. In recent times, people come up with a 'woke' culture that promotes funny inspirations. Communication has been among the essential elements of modern civilization and many people have still not realized even in this century
The book will be a great read!
A well deserve BOTD spot.
