I like historical fiction and this book sounds like an emotional rollercoaster. I would like to give it a try. Jacob and Heschel had a tragical childhood. I'm curious about what it is that happened to them. Congrats on BOTD!

The jewish tradition and their religion seems interesting to read about. I like that its also the 20th century since there's a certain writing style to it. I don't like that the author reveals what happens before it does. That sounds like a major spoiler alert. Thanks for your review.

I love historical fiction. This story is before the war and I guess they were already in America when the war broke out. This sounds interesting to me. Thank you for your review!

Today's BOTD is a historical fiction novel that follows brothers, Jacob and Herchel, after their mother dies. Readers interested in learning more about Jewish tradition and religion will also enjoy this book, as it is well-written and researched. This sounds like a great read! I've added it to my WTR list. Thank you!!

I love that the author includes some historical events to make the read more realistic. Needless to say, the characters are crafted well, and I believe the plot also brings forth some harsh realities of the world through the portrayal of how the brothers survived living in a brothel. Thank you for the analysis.

Max is a very terrible parent. It's sad because there are so many children who are going through same fate as Jacob and Heschel.
What happened to Jacob that night? And what nightmare of His resurfaced.
I really enjoyed your review, you didn't leave anything out and you conveyed the message of the book properly. It is a nice book. Congrats to the author on BOTD.

This fiction book has an intriguing plotline that contains both positives and negatives. I especially like that the book is well thought out and easy to follow along. I'm super curious to know what happened to the protagonists childhood that resurfaces again years after the fact. Congrats on the BOTD!
