In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes is a thought-provoking book that brings to your attention many philosophical ideas. The reader is challenged with an opening question that causes one to open up their thoughts and abstract thinking. The author presents a very clear thesis about the contents of the book early on, allowing readers to ponder on their thoughts on each topic. The inclusion of analogies, such as starving children, enlightens the reader of their own thoughts and rationale. When reading this book, it is important that one really thinks about how each idea can relate to one's own life to find value in our daily thoughts and interactions.

The biggest strength of this book is the author's word choice. The book is written in a clear and concise manner, and the thoughts flow beautifully. Each sentence presents the reader with a new thought-provoking truth to the harsh realities of today’s societies. I think my absolute favorite part of this book is the author’s inclusion of humor. At times, the contents of the book can be very intriguing, and these additions of humor bring it back to a lighter level. I also admire the author for presenting the overarching theme of this book, and that is that there is unity between all as human beings.

I do not see there being many negative aspects of this book. However, I can see some readers struggling to understand the high level of vocabulary. On the contrary, I do see this also being a strength because it can be used for some as a means of improving one's own vocabulary.

I give this book a rating of 5 stars out of 5. Along with everything stated above I personally love writings like this. They present the reader with inspiring ideas, mixing both the present and the past. This showcases how society has changed over time, such as bringing up Martin Luther King Jr. and Jesus, and how certain thoughts are viewed very differently in today’s world. The author also teaches us to cherish each and every moment as we can never know when something may be our last.

I believe this book to be a perfect fit for anyone who loves to challenge their thoughts. I would also recommend this book for anyone with a high level of vocabulary in the English language, as this book contains a high-level of vocabulary. When considering age groups, I think this is suitable for all adults at any stage in their lives. I think it would be interesting to see how people of different ages view the thoughts in this book in relation to their own life experiences.

I have to agree with you concerning the high vocabulary that you mention. While I did find it added a bit of weight to the book, it was absolutely necessary for the topics discussed. While I don't see it as a bad thing, it does make the book a bit of a slow read.
