The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins

Post by Lee_93 »

The Hunger Games is a marvelous novel written by Suzanne Collins. She has painted an amazing picture with her descriptive language and ability to drag the reader into the characters world.
This story revolves around a sixteen year old girl, Katniss Everdeen, who makes the Ultimate sacrifice for her twelve year old sister Primrose.
It's Prim's first year with her name in the draw and she has only had her name entered once. But that doesn't stop her from being drawn to compete. Causing Katniss to volunteer in her place.
In this world gone mad with political control. Each of the twelve districts must offer up a male and female "Tribute" to compete in the Hunger Games. In these games the twenty-four tributes must fight to the death until there is one stand alone victor. In a journey filled with Cracker jackers, Mocking Jays and wild beasts with a twist, will Katniss abide by the rule of a stand alone victor?
I found that this book hit on some very important subjects. Such as, our society's ability to lose it's humanity. And how we put our children through many stressful and unforgiving situations.
Collins has portrayed a believable story in my opinion and I would recommend this book to others as it is an in-thralling story and I found it hard to put down. As I am sure others will too.
I can't wait to see what Collins comes up with next for this trilogy.

“Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor.”
