The Unfinished Line by Zee David is a fictional book about a lady with lost memories trying hard to understand why strange things are happening in her surroundings. The narration is in a first-person perspective.

Klair is suffering from memory loss after an accident. At least that is what her therapist and Luke, a man who claims to be her husband, say. While Klair doesn't remember much of her past, there are bits of things that are familiar and make her uncomfortable. First, she doesn't like her therapist, and second, she can't stop doubting Luke. Klair then gets a job at a museum where Luke works as the art director, although she doesn't remember applying for that job. At her workplace, she feels safe with Ryan, a co-worker who seems to know her more. On the other hand, Ryan believes Klair has crucial information that will help him solve a mystery about another missing co-worker, so he tries hard to regain Klair's memories. At Luke's house, Klair discovers a secret staircase beneath the carpet in the studio room. Wanting to know more, she goes down to the basement only to find a dead body.

I liked how the author created and solved mysteries in this book, which attracted my attention. Also, the flow of the story was excellently thought out, so the book gets more interesting as it continues. It was even more interesting how the author gave clues so that readers could guess how events would turn out. For instance, I could guess something was off with the tea Luke was giving to his wife, and my instincts weren't wrong. Another thing I liked in the book is how Zee David moderated the number of characters to only come up with a handful so that readers could easily memorize them.

Furthermore, I liked how the book ends in suspense. I am really anxious to read its continuation in book 2. The blend of politics and crime was perfect because, in real life, politicians would do anything, including crime, to secure their positions in governance. Finally, I am an art lover, and I appreciate how the book centers its story on art. The author even describes picture painting as a way of expression, which I wouldn't oppose.

The book's editors did an exceptional job. In addition, I did not dislike anything in this book. Therefore, I will rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend The Unfinished Line to lovers of mystery and suspense books.

I can't say I have ever seen that name spelled with a 'k' before. Other than that, this sounds like an incredibly intriguing story. Lovely review.
