yes L.C., been taking vitamins for many years....( haven't had a cold since 1980 )..

there's no substitution for " eating well "............i think of vitamins as my " insurance policy "...that's why they're called " supplements "...

my " mentor " was Dr. Linus Pauling ( the only person to have won 2 Nobel prizes for Peace and Chemistry )...his work on Vitamin C influenced me greatly...

what's " key " is building up ones immune system...Antioxidants is the answer...a good NUTRITIONIST knows more about " you are what you eat " than a doctor who's training is strictly geared to treating disease /illness and never addressing root problems....

"p reventive " medicine would put doctors out of business............prescriptions for drugs is what they do best...the American public shares part of the guilt too...in their naivete they prefer a pill to instantly cure the " symptoms ", rather than stop eating crap...

the only winners are the drug companies ( some of the biggest contributors to presidential campaigns ) which enables the FDA to constantly use the public as Guinea Pigs for their TOXIC drugs ( euphemistically called medications )

i'd rather spend my money on vitamins than doctors, drugs, hospitals, etc...( it's not more than a couple of hundred a year ) so good luck on your path to " wellness "

Onions are a good cold preventitive, also. I eat a lot of them, in cooking, sandwiches, salads and I havent had a cold in years. I think it was Benjamin Franklin who said an onion a day keeps the doctor away.

Chili peppers are great for sinus infection. And believe it or not, they are good for stomach problems. Ulcers, stuff like that.

Yes B.H.!...Ya could even order your coffee there, or any of those " hard to find " favorites of yours not available in Mexico...

Friends and i used to drive or fly to the border when i lived in Mexico, cause i couldn't live w/o Lawry's special seasoning, and DOVE soap, etc.,...also xmas shopping for toys for the kidlets............most often our shopping trips were to San Antonio...we ARRIVED w /EMPTY suitcases, packed to the gills upon DEPARTURE back to Mexico....

I would imagine that w/Walmart there, all the stateside products are available to you...( i lived there in the 70's )

Best part is FREE S&H, for orders over twenty five bucks...

The Walmarts here are a lot different than in the States. The small one here dosent have much. They have a good selection of food items, other things they dont have much of a selection. It seems that here they go in more for specialty stores and if you want hardware, you go to the hardware store, it you want clothing you go to a clothing store and for videos you go to the video store. Its a pretty good system, altho a little inconvenient. I do a lot of musical shopping. If I want peanut butter, I go to the store that has peanut butter. If I want the kind of bread I like, I go to the kind of bread I like store. If I want Super X orange juice, which is my favorite brand, I go to the store that has Super X. And so on. Its interesting to say the least.

The big Walmart in Ensenada is a different story. They have a lot, but the prices are sky-high. Its mainly for rich Gringo tourists who want to make an impression by saying Im loaded. I shop at Walmart. Big deal. Who cares?
