Review of The Closet Spiritualist
'Waking up to one's truth is the hardest thing you will ever do!' This is the welcoming statement on the first page of The Closet Spiritualist by Franco A. Romero. It is a deeply philosophical book that tries to expose the existing reality of human beings. Romero has been caught in a life of depression, being lost, hopelessness and despair. His only saving grace was the spiritual guidance he received which led to his spiritual awakening. This spiritual awakening involved the recognition of his clairvoyant ability, the use of his imagination, a recognition of his (spiritual) attributes, and his willingness to reject his egoic/analytical mind (The left brain consciousness).
I enjoyed reading this book and like how the author put the book together. Through his explanations and experiences, the author portrays an entirely new meaning of terms, concepts, ideals, and realities that human beings have lived out for so long. This prolonged existence in these contorted concepts has caused most people to live without reaching their maximum potential. Romero makes it clear that people around the world are currently asleep in their present dream state. Awakening from this state will push humans into a higher realm where their true nature, or consciousness, will exist freely in all its grandeur, as it is supposed to. The author shows how this can happen—how one can wake up to their truth—through each chapter of the book.
The book consists of 249 pages and ten challenging chapters. In each, the author shows the reader that there is more to this present physical reality. It cannot be read casually as it would require more than that to strike any understanding of the revelations put together herein. There are recurring themes of faith, love, fear that have existed with humans for so long, and several references to the metaphysical.
It takes a gradual form. Chapter One (Coming Out) helps the reader to walk through the spiritual awakening journey with the writer. Then there is an awareness of the actuality of the present reality in Chapter Two (The Dream state). And it proceeds on to culminate into the ultimate reason for the spiritual awakening in the first place—The Calling (Chapter Ten). Also, the diagrams help to illustrate the new knowledge the writer has deposited in the book.
The book was professionally edited because there was only one error in it. Although at a point, it becomes a little too much to take in at once, which I dislike about it. The book is a good one and deserves a four out of five stars rating. It is good for everyone seeking clarity, direction, or purpose. Spiritualists, philosophers, young adults, and Christians should read this book.

Yes, I think everyone experiences that sometimes, and it's normal. Sometimes we don't live in the moment, but we are always reminded that we should. I like the lessons this book brings. I'd like to know how Romero explained it here. Great review!
